Beautiful beachfront house w/ stunning views, free WiFi, & outdoor shower

The house is fantastic! Right on the gulf beach. Very clean and roomy. Communicating with Vacasa, however, was not good. Took a long time for answers and they didn't really listen to me. We were dealing with an ice storm so couldn't leave on time and had to forfeit one of our nights. I will avoid Vacasa hosts in the future if possible.

Can’t beat the view! Beachfront with no houses blocking front or side views. From the master bedroom, I didn’t even have to get out of bed to watch the sunrise! The sunset was visible standing just inside but we always stepped out onto great deck to enjoy God’s faithful display! There were several fixes needed that took us a couple of days to find local Vacasa but once they came, they were very diligent to meet our requests for bath mats, working can opener, trash can in a bathroom, fix slow tub drain, tighten towel rack to stay on wall, replace burned out light bulbs, and fix panel on oven door so it wouldn’t fall open. I also needed lesson in specific technique to make lock pad work for me. Calling main Vacasa number is not helpful but once you get local help, you’re in business again! Many nice features including beach decor, comfy beds, choice of walk-in shower or tub combo, not a single pest or critter all week, and good hvac that kept us comfortable in January weather. The snow was too thick to use either parking spot under house. Our car stuck in the sand, but our neighbors got us out after seeing us wait 3 hours for help that never came. We parked in front the rest of our stay. I highly recommend License to Chill for its superb beach front location and expansive, see-it-all view of the Gulf of America. Just make your own inspection of what didn’t get supplied or fixed, call Jen to come take care of it, then enjoy an amazing stay in this lovely beach home on delightful Dauphin Island. Bet you’ll be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Everything was just as listed. We had one minor issue while there and VRBO tram addressed and corrected it super quick.

This is our 5th year coming to dauphin Island with family. The houses we’ve stayed in before were not available this year so we tried out this place. I would say it is good enough, for a short stay, given the competitive pricing. If you’re looking for a bargain and are okay giving up some comforts and cleanliness, this place will work for you. There is no water source on the main porch leading up from the beach (only under the house), so sand inevitably comes into the house. Then inside there are no rugs to catch the sand or debris, so we spent the entire stay walking around on grimy floors (which were already grimy at the start of the stay). We saw 2 medium sized roaches during our stay. I’m not sure how much of this is normal coast bug issues verses this house issue. We haven’t ever seen them in all our other 5 years coming to DI. Quantity and quality of furniture is lacking. There is only enough seating in kitchen for 9 (if you include barstools) and the back of some kitchen chairs were cracked/wobbly. Living room only seats 6. So, house says it can hold many more guests but there really isn’t room to all hang out together. Kitchen and fridge had plenty of space. It isn’t very well stocked though. Limited containers for storage and only 1 mixing bowl.

Perfect location for a quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing beach vacation. We will definitely rent this location again!
