I was truly shocked reading some of these reviews after staying here. I suppose if you’re planning to come to the smoky mountains to sit and watch tv all day you may be disappointed here. However, if you are hoping to take time away to relax or commune with nature, this is an absolutely perfect location for that. It is very private, the house is cozy and comfortable. The kitchen had a new oven and was well stocked with everything you need to stay in and cook a good meal, although there’s some good restaurants nearby. The house was clean and well cared for, we found no issues with it. Plenty of linens, blankets and toiletries and a newly paved driveway. If you’re lucky enough to come in the fall, the colors of the leaves will be stunning as well as the reflection of all of the trees on the pond. We were lucky enough to see several wild turkeys and a juvenile bear down by the lakeside on our trip, he didn’t bother us though. My only regret here was that we couldn’t stay longer, I could see spending hours curled up with a good book or a mug of something hot to drink on the back porch. This is a perfect home base for visiting Wears Valley, Townsend and of course the National Park. The Wi-Fi worked well. We have traveled all over the world and stayed in many unique homes and spaces; I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
We had a great stay with our family for the weekend. The colors were so vibrant and you could easily enjoy them from the indoors because of the huge windows, plus the porch has plenty of comfortable seating to be outside as well. Our bed was comfortable with plenty of blankets available when temps dropped. We enjoyed cooking meals in and watching the sunset over the secluded pond outside. The house was neat and tidy upon our arrival and we didn’t notice any issues with bugs or other complaints mentioned by earlier reviewers. Seems like things here are well taken care of and improvements have been made on the inconveniences people mentioned in the past. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone coming to the area and plan to bring our family back next time we visit this part of Tennessee. Great house, great location, great hosts!
We loved seeing the fall colors at Peak a View cabin. My family and I had a great time going to Cades Cove and several trails within the national park. The cabin was comfortable and plenty big enough for our group. We had everything we needed to cook at home and it was clean & tidy upon arriving. Wifi worked great and we enjoyed using the TV as well. I especially loved the big window views of the fall trees just outside. The weather was perfect to sit outside on the porch swing :) Will definitely be coming back to stay again!
Nothing like waking up to a beautiful view of the autumn foliage! The cabin feels cozy and safe, even after seeing a bear or two on our way in! My wife and I loved having a full kitchen to cook in together while experiencing the beauty outside through the amazing living space windows. The drive is well paved and the TV has a Roku on the back to watch your favorite shows. We made an easy trip to Cade's Cove and love visiting Townsend. Hope to stay here again, thank you for a wonderful place for vacation!
This was not what we were expecting. This house has great windows yet no views. There was a dead roach on the dinner table and a dead bug in the master shower. The entire house smelt musty and stale like a boarded up cabin that was not lived in. Cobwebs were in usual places. With so many choices in the great smoky mountains we will not chose this place again.
We were vacationing in the US from England, and loved the opportunity to stay at this cabin and appreciate the great outdoors in Tennessee. The cabin had everything we needed, spacious and cozy at the same time, and easy access to local attractions. We highly recommend staying here.
