What our guests are saying...
Guests found Serene Mountain Escape, Near Downtown・Pool Access beautifully decorated, comfortable, and well-equipped for a relaxing vacation stay. Its peaceful, semi-private mountain setting offered scenic surroundings while remaining convenient to downtown, nearby attractions, shopping, dining, and mountain adventures.
Overview
Tall windows and vaulted ceilings fill the living area with natural light and views of the surrounding trees. Settle in by the stone wood-burning fireplace for a movie, or step out to the patio for a little fresh mountain air. The full kitchen has appliances and cookware for meals at home, along with a breakfast bar and a separate dining nook. A washer and dryer make longer stays easier. Upstairs, each of the two bedrooms has a queen bed. The living room has a sleeper sofa for additional sleeping space. You’ll also have one full bathroom, one half bathroom, Wi-Fi, and three Smart TVs throughout the home.
As our guest, you'll have full access to the entire property, except for a few areas reserved for house supplies.
Prickly Bear sits in Chalet Village, a wooded Gatlinburg neighborhood along Ski Mountain Road. Spend a day exploring downtown Gatlinburg’s shops, restaurants, and attractions, or head into Great Smoky Mountains National Park for trails and scenic overlooks. There’s plenty to discover beyond Gatlinburg, too. Pigeon Forge offers shows and family attractions, while Wears Valley and Townsend are lovely choices for a slower scenic day. Follow Little River Road alongside the water toward Townsend, or take Newfound Gap Road through the mountains to Cherokee, North Carolina, with overlooks along the way.
Ober Mountain is within walking distance of the townhome. For downtown Gatlinburg, Anakeesta, the national park, and the off-site Chalet Village clubhouses, you’ll want a car. Ski Mountain Road leads into Gatlinburg, while the Pigeon Forge Bypass offers another route toward Pigeon Forge. Mountain roads are winding, and traffic can be slow during busy travel periods. Allow extra time for outings and check road conditions if snow or ice is expected. If you plan to use Ober’s shuttle, check its current hours before heading over.

This was a perfect place to stay on vacation with the home amenities
Beautifully decorated townhouse. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Thank you for hosting us!
Not sure if this place was cleaned. Received the text before noon that we could check in early. Later realized it looked not cleaned. Outlet cover missing where a child could have easily been hurt. Pictures were very misleading. No Grill, back door extremely hard to lock, stepping through air conditioning water to get in the house, kitchen cookware rusty and worn. Very uncomfortable and very unwelcome.
It is a beautiful and very quiet place and the places are very close. And the cleaning was good, thank you, we will definitely be back.
The home was exactly how the pictures promote and was definitely satisfied with the housing accommodations. The location was in the mountains, which I was not fond of because I don’t like driving in the mountains. This owner had additional privileges to access Chalet Village to access the pool. I did not enjoy the experience as I was racially profile. The staff member stated that “this was not a public pool” (1151 Upper Alpine Way). Once my husband came over and I showed him the white card then his tone changed. Fortunately, when we went to the second location (705 village loop road) staff were more welcoming.
Very nice semi-private location. Loved the amenities at the clubhouses.
