Cleanliness left a lot to be desired.
The house was great with a beautiful viewâthe perfect mix of mountain and lake. We enjoyed the hot tub and ping pong table. We were lucky enough to be there during the Harvest Moon and the porch has the perfect view of the full moon with the reflection on the lake. The water level is a little low in the area right now, but that is normal for this time of year. We also drove to Dollywood which is about a 45-minute drive from the house and well worth the drive. Overall we really enjoyed this trip and hope this place is available next time we plan a trip to the mountains.
We had a great time. The lake is so quiet and peaceful. The home had wonderful views of the lake. We enjoyed the amenities like ping pong table, kayaks, the dock, smart tvâs, various board games (though they need to restock with new ones cause many pieces were missing), and just an overall clean house. I would stay here again but just be cautious of bringing anyone elderly or with disabilities because the access to the dock was a little dangerous
The house definitely needs some work. The outside: the grass, weeds, and bushes were grown up and porches were dirty. We did not sit on the furniture outside. The awning was broken on the front porch and would not go up to have shade. The grill wasnât in good shape (all the knobs are messed up). If you bring a boat, keep in mind that there isnât an outlet to plug up anything at the dock for your boat (We did not look into that before we booked) Kayaks were great to have in the shed! The inside: The refrigerator leaked the whole time were there. We had to keep a towel under it. My daughter went to sit at the vanity in the bedroom and the chair was missing screws. The back came out of the chair. The shower near the laundry room was the best working shower. The other 2 showers did not have much pressure at all coming out of the shower head. At one point, I went to get in the shower upstairs and the water turned completely off. My sister had turned on the shower downstairs which caused mine to completely turn off. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table. The house overall was okay, but I wouldnât rent it again.
This was a nice place to stay. Ample space and places for people to sleep. Nice kitchen. Firepit. Hot tub. And great to be right on the water. But there are a couple major problems to be aware of. First, the house is essentially an A-frame. As a result, it's impossible to keep a consistent temperature on all levels of the house, at least during the summer. When we first walked in, the house was frigid at 64 degrees. We soon learned why. When we set it to a more reasonable 70 degrees on the main level and went to bed, we woke up to a stuffy 78 degrees in the loft. The only way we could bring down the temperature in the loft (where we slept) was to make it cold on the main level. The second problem was the dock. It was great to have a dock so we could rent a boat and take it out on the water at any time. But the dock was built on an inclined rock slab without cutting away the rock to make it level. As a result, parts of the dock are at a VERY steep angle. Quite dangerous, especially when wet. My son hurt his leg on it, my daughter fall on it, and my wife was scared to walk on it. This is a liability problem that really needs to be addressed. Wi-Fi was also a little wonky and required us to constantly log back in through a web portal.
We enjoyed a lovely stay at the foothills of the Smokyâs with lake fun! Close for awesome Motorcycle rides and gorgeous lake to cool off and play!
