Upon arrival, there’s a mildew smell in the home. We found a large area of mold growing in the dining room. This is a major health concern, we would most certainly not have stayed more than the two nights we did. The heat did not work and we’ve got a 6 month old with us. The master bedroom had no comforter and there were no extra blankets in the entire house. The hot tub does not work, even though it’s listed as an amenity. The hot tub was one of the main reasons we picked this cabin. There’s dust on everything and we found garbage under the master bed and recliner. Dirt, hair, and pieces of dead spiders in the bathroom. I messaged the host on Airbnb to ask about the hot tub because a review on there said it didn’t work, the host never responded. I tried contacting Vacasa while we were there but I was on hold over 30 minutes, and couldn’t get anything to work online to contact them. This property could be a beautiful stay if they actually maintained it. I highly recommend no one to stay in this cabin or any property that Vacasa manages.
This is am absolutely beautiful and potentially functional cabin. Unfortunately, there were so many areas that had not been cared for or attended to gor far too long. We arrived tired and ready to rest.but first was an inspection. The dryer was full of lint beyond the screen. In the kitchen we opened the blinds to find an abundance of dead critters collected there. Good thing we brought a dishwasher cleaning kit as it was slimy and had some food around the screen trap. The fridge was cold and tidy! There were many more pots and pans than expected and we were grateful for that? The bathrooms were meat, but not truly clean. You could see the red bacteria built up around the tiles and the wall and floor tiles. My wife is a professional house cleaner so we had cleaning supplies like Comet on hand! It was kind of them to provide linens and towels! That was a Godsend as we had forgotten most of ours! Now, one of the main reasons we chose this particular cabin was because there was a hot tub! Unfortunately the hot tub was not working! There were many debris in the hot tub and we weren't able to clean them out due to the fact that it had turned into an ice cube. We did what we could to try to melt the ice my leaving the top off during the day when the sun was high however we never got to use the hot tub and this was a big disappointment for us! Please be aware that it is possible to hear conversations from many different rooms if you are in the bedrooms upstairs. I would make my guess aware of this so that you could keep anything that is private private. Both upstairs bedrooms had a large collection of insects that were dead in the windows on the window seals. It was also concerning that there appear to be a roof leak in the smaller bedroom when the snow melted and it began to sleet. We also noticed a leak that was close to the front doors in the dining room ceiling. I also want to point out that there is a distinct possibility that during the winter months the main road from the cabin to Gatlinburg. We had quite the adventure taking an alternate route that was up a steep mountain road that was very narrow and had no guardrails. Ultimately we had to turn around and get unstuck and drive back into town and wait for the main road to reopen. So the lesson is check your forecast because if it's going to be icy and all you're going to want to stay at the cabin! Last but certainly not least; the downstairs area is where the bunk beds are as well as the pool table. There is a heating element there however it does not work. The temperatures in that down stairs area can be very close to the temperatures outside! In the winter this means that you better have some really warm bedding! Luckily we had some very warm Coleman sleeping bags and we were able to survive it! Due to the temperature in the basement however we were not able to enjoy the pool table at all. As for the community itself it's beautiful it's quiet and there are plenty of things to do there!
Cabin needs a lot of attention, every room needs a deep cleaning. Remove the poison ivy from the stairs going to the hot tub. Unfortunately Townsend was booked every where else so we had to stay. No curtains on any window. No privacy in the master with 2 sets of doors with windows. No curtains in a bathroom with windows. Mold on the ceiling from roof leak. Way overpriced cabin for what we paid.
The house itself was good. But when get got to the house it was not very clean at all. And there was not power in the upstairs bathroom and one of the bedrooms. I contacted Vacasa to let them know. The power was fixed the next day. About the dirtiness of the house they had me send them pictures, which I did. They apologized and refunded me part of the cleaning fee. I am keeping in mind that good help is hard to come by these days. I greatly appreciated the little refund I received. The area was great and the house was good. It does need some updates and a little work. Hot tube is definitely gross and needs to be removed. No TV on the basement floor which is odd since that is kinda the game room. Kitchen needs to be restocked with bowls/cups/can opener. NO river access. Which by the pictures I thought we did. If the cleaning staff gets better than I would rate this house higher. Vacasa was good to work with.
When I made the reservation, I had no idea it was part of a campground/tiny home complex; had a tough time finding the cabin up a hill behind the complex. Lots of screaming children all day long. Cabin was dirty upon arrival except bathrooms. Cleaned while waiting for the rest of the family to arrive. Reported house was dirty via text inquiry but declined additional cleaning as I had already done it. Got assistance with electronic lock and internet from local assistant, Norman. Large bugs (beetle/roach like) throughout. Called the management company-pest control never came. Kitchen not well equipped-as previous reviewers stated no toaster, can opener was not functional. Flatware incomplete; 6-7 forks, 4-5 spoons and knives; we had to use plastic during our stay. Agree the stairs to hot tub were sketchy. Additional lighting needed especially in the living area. Window coverings needed, especially French doors into main level bedroom. Positives: beds were comfortable and pleasantly surprised that a washer and dryer was available. Overall: Would not go back for free.
We enjoyed our stay. We had to move from one cabin that didn’t work out to this cabin. Thankfully this was available and we didn’t have to go home. It was pretty clean so no worries there. It did seem like it was in the middle of being renovated. There was no toaster or any special amenities so plan to bring basic condiments. We left some things for the next person who stays to start the process. There needs more lighting for sure. It was dark. We enjoyed the pool table downstairs and the shower in the master bedroom was the bomb! There were no curtains or blinds anywhere so no privacy, and the master bedroom doors were French doors with glass in them. Those need to be covered as well. Lighting upstairs in the bedrooms could be better as well. Decking was a little scary as carpenter bees have had many a nice meal. The hot tub was inaccessible due to decking felt unsafe to walk down to it. But beds were nice and living room couch was great! Huge tv in living room and master but none any where else. Once the improvements are complete it will be 5 star! Kitchen was nice with big sink and nice fridge with ice. Just needs a toaster and can opener. We did enjoy our stay though. Nice new washer and dryer. Huge laundry room!
