Home is very close to the beach, although you have to go down several fairly difficult rock stairs to get there. If you are elderly or handicapped, it would be a problem. It has a lot of room but is very outdated in a lot of areas. We also had problems with cleanliness. Dirty dishes, rugs, broken screens and toilet seats. We had a great time, and did live the location. I guess just a little disappointed in a few things

The location was wonderful. Close to the beach. Cute little town with restaurants and shopping. Even train rides were available. The house was not in the best condition. A non-working fire alarm was hanging on a wire from the ceiling. The bolts on one of the beds were so loose that the bed was unusable. Two of the beds had stained sheets. When we opened the dishwasher door, the whole dishwasher fell onto the kitchen floor. It was not bolted under the counter. The carpeted stairs and dining room chairs were heavily stained. Despite the problems, it was a nice place. With some TLC it would be a great vacation home. However, we won't be back.

The view from the living/dining room was absolutely beautiful. Access to the beach was perfect, and the hot tubs were clean and so relaxing.

My favorite moment was sitting in the hot tub with my daughters, on the big deck, watching the kids flying a kite on the beach right in front of us!! There was no fighting over bathrooms, even though there were 12 of us. Everyone got to sleep in a real bed. Everyone wants to come back again!!

We had a 5 day weekend over the 4th of July. Rockaway Beach is a great place to be over the 4th. The house is needing some upkeep, but a great place for extended family. Right on the beach with beach access, two kitchens, two hot tubs and 6 bathrooms!
