There is public beach access just two blocks away at the west end of N 3rd Avenue where you will find long stretches of beach to explore in either direction. If you want to get out and explore a bit of nature, head over to Rockaway Big Tree Park for some light hiking and greenery. Tillamook is just 15 miles inland for more city-like activities and shopping! Room was supposed to be a suite, but usually a suite denotes place to prepare food like either a stovetop burner or at least dishes and a sink to eat meals from ....it did at least have a microwave, but how to eat food with no utensils or dishes is a mystery and yet there was dishwashing liquid! there was an unplugged coffee maker which we had to place on the floor near the next accessible outlet since the one closest to the table with the coffee maker was not usable unless moving the refrigerator away from the wall to get to the outlet strip strung up behind the fridge that was apparently plugged into the outlet on the other side of the fridge! to say the least this was NOT a true suite.....then the exterior of the hotel had bird poop on the stairwell and green mold on the handrail from the ground. Suffice to say we would NOT stay here again and NOT recommend anyone else to do so either. It wasn't even up to Motel 6 standards.....maybe more like Motel 5-1/2
