Overview

This warm, inviting and recently renovated Rockaway Beach getaway sits on the west side of Highway 101, just across a quiet street from miles of sandy beach. Perfect for memorable family vacations, this three bedroom cottage is filled with cozy charm and nestled between a natural wetland pond and the ocean in the popular southern area of town. From the moment you first drive up, you'll be charmed by the beachy exterior and big front porch, complete with Adirondack chairs for sitting back and relaxing with a morning cup of coffee! Once inside, there's ample coastal character, with ship replicas on the mantle, a white paneled ceiling, and seashells decorating the tables; but, you'll also find a touch of traditional style courtesy the oriental rugs and hardwood floors. There's a colorful brick wood fireplace so bring some wood with you, TV with streaming and a DVD player, comfy seating, and room for the whole family to spread out and watch a movie or find their own quiet place to curl up with a good book. The full kitchen is well-stocked with all the appliances, pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, and dinnerware you need to serve a group of hungry beachcombers. Pick up some fresh seafood at the market and whip up a delicious fish dinner in no time! There's even a dishwasher for easy clean-up. The full-sized washer and dryer are also located in the kitchen and ready for your wet beach clothes after a day of exploring. A formal dining room has ample seating for meals or there's plenty of space on the back deck to have an outdoor feast. Accessed through a glass door from the kitchen, the deck is outfitted with an outdoor table and patio umbrella for shade. After spending the day at the beach, fire up the gas grill and cook up some juicy burgers for a laid-back summer barbecue. And, after the kids have gone to bed, you can spend cool, clear evenings on the deck with a glass of wine. This home has three bedrooms and one full bath, all located on one level. Two of the bedrooms contain trundle day beds, each with its own collection of colorful throw pillows. With flexibility in mind, these beds can convert into two twin-sized beds, perfect for two younger kids to share a room, or stay as a single twin bed for an older child. These rooms are decorated pleasingly for maximum comfort, with dressers, reading lamps, and soft bedding. The couch in the living room converts to a queen-sized pull-out sofa bed for extra sleeping options. The third bedroom has a full-sized bed with a cozy comforter, bedside table, reading lamp, and a window that lets in lots of natural light. It has a vintage, vintage-chic feel that will have its occupants feeling soothed and contented in no time. With its three bedrooms, this cute little cottage will sleep everyone comfortably. It's also dog-friendly as well, so bring your furry family member along for some quality time playing in the surf for an additional fee. While this cottage is definitely welcoming and very comfortable, one of the best features is its prime location. Right off the back patio and yard is a large, natural wetland pond with lily pads, aquatic plants, and other scenic features. A very relaxing afternoon can be had watching the kids play in the back or being on the lookout for great blue herons out in the pond. With beach access right across the street, you are literally steps from miles of pristine sandy beach. Spend the day building sand castles, flying kites, looking for shells, or simply laying out under a big umbrella. The cottage is also located only a half mile north of one of the most recognizable views in Rockaway Beach: Twin Rocks. Be sure to bring your camera for some stunning sunset pictures starring this geologic feature. Want a little change from all the peacefulness of your beach cottage? Head about a mile north and hit the quaint downtown area for shops, restaurants, and galleries. Stock up on local saltwater taffy and handcrafted fudge at The Picnic Basket, or maybe start the day with a hearty homemade breakfast at the Whale Spout. For a fun day trip, drive north up the coast stopping at Wheeler for a little antiquing, Manzanita for lunch at Bread and Ocean, then onto Cannon Beach for an afternoon of hiking in Ecola State Park or gallery-hopping along the picturesque downtown streets. If you're ready to make some family vacation memories on the Oregon coast, come enjoy this cute and cozy Cottage by the Sea! THINGS TO KNOW To provide you more comfort, this charming vacation rental has a heat pump which will truly make a difference in the winter months.

We had an amazing time! It was a beautiful home 5 of us slept comfortably. It felt like home while we where there. Short walk to the beach witch is what we were looking for when booking a stay. It was exactly what we needed for the time we stayed. Great communication as well. They really went above and beyond, even being short staffed. Thank you!

I rented this home for the first time during summer 2020 to find a place to go with my family during Covid where we’d be outside. I came to Rockaway when I was a kid and remembered loving it. Now we come back as often as possible. This house has a special feeling in it. Maybe this is cheesy but when you are there you feel like you’re in a happy place. It’s comfortable and it takes 3 min walk (with kids) to be on the sand in front of the Twin Rocks. I love that my kids will grow up with memories of this house and the happy times we spend here. Vacasa did a nice job this time and the only comfort we had in leaving is knowing we will be back! Thank you for sharing your house with us :)

I think it is cute. It's a great location, games for the kids, the tv and wifi worked great. The company needs to clean the sheets and extra blankets. I would have still came back, but the upstairs was a deal breaker. If your going to have it blocked off it should be a locking door. Made us uncomfortable.

When we walked in the first thing I noticed was the old house smell. I felt like I had walked into Grandma's house. If you like old this is a great choice. Well cared for and decorated fantastically. The beds are soft and comfy. Rooms are small, but that is to be expected in an old cottage. We loved it there. Bathroom has a nice tub and shower. The mirror could use a brighter light. Be aware and always check the amenities list. There are no cable channels. So no TV shows to watch. Supposed to have Netflix but it didn't work for us. Was able to enjoy the fireplace for one night. But one has to go find their own firewood. A short walk to the beach and that was fantastic. What a view!
