With the Pacific Ocean waiting just across the dunes and the heart of downtown Rockaway Beach within a few blocks' stroll, this oceanfront home is the easy, comfortable Oregon Coast getaway you've been hoping for. This home occupies one half of a duplex, with a long ocean view deck running the length of the house that's divided between the two sides. Inside, you'll find an open living space with large picture windows, several comfortable sofas, and a streaming-equipped TV. You can follow the sandy path home from the beach each afternoon, toss the day's towels in the washer/dryer, and log onto the free WiFi to catch up on a bit of photo-sharing. The kitchen has everything you'll need to prepare homemade breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, including full-size appliances, a breakfast bar, and a bistro table for four by the window. THINGS TO KNOW The free WiFi will support streaming, but please note that it is not high-speed. The fireplace is not for guest use. We do not encourage swimming here, due to the cold temperatures of our waters and dangerous rip tides.

Would recommend but if you plan to cook and eat there make sure their equipment and dinnerware has been updated and contains a normal full set.

We really enjoyed our stay at the South Beach house. It was a wonderful location backing up to the dunes and just a short walk to the beach. Overall, the house was comfortable and clean. The kitchen could use some new plates and silverware. All of the teaspoons had been mangled by the dishwasher, several plates were very chipped and there was only 1 cereal bowl. The shower curtain liner needed to replaced as did the washing machine seal. The washing machine seal was so moldy that I didn’t feel comfortable washing my clothes in it. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of blankets and towels. I appreciated the body wash, shampoo & conditioner in the bathroom. Overall, we loved the location and found the house comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

This property was very close to the beach/ocean but it was hardly oceanfront. There was a neighbor’s driveway between the backyard/porch and the large dune.. and then the beach. Still very close but you are unable to see the beach from back porch. Not enough kitchen supplies (plates, cups, silverware) and the couches were very dirty feeling and looking. Some good points: it was as clean as it could be when we arrived. Very close proximity to beach. The beds were comfortable and very convenient to have washer and dryer in the unit.

It might be time to invest in couch covers or new ones the couches do not appear as in the pictures. Very visible wear and usage. In addition, a replenish of silverware is a must - we had four forks. At other Rockaway home locations we had items that added to our stay - such as family board games, beach towels (there wasn't enough for our family of four) and beach toys. These are little things but I think important for families to know. If you are looking for a standalone home - know this is not it. the two front doors are directly across from each other and can be a little awkward at times with other guests staying across the shared hall/entry. The layout was great, beds were comfy, plenty of kid plates (ie not glass) and adequate wash towels.
