Probably the best thing about this house is the downstairs. It’s spread out enough that a larger group can feel like they aren’t on top of each other. However, the main reason we book homes is for the washer/dryer. We have a disabled child that requires laundry daily. When we got to the home, after contacting the renting company, we found out the washer/dryer was removed, however it is still listed on the rental. We also had very little dishes available, until we opened the dishwasher and realized they’d been washed and not put away from the previous renters. There’s a couple nitpicky things (a cutting board being used as a side table, no bedside table in master bedroom) but nothing that impacted the trip. The steps are no joke. The bushes have overgrown into the handrail making it almost impossible to use so you have to go very slow and steady up and down. If anyone in your party struggles with stairs, don’t rent this home. Beach access is close. If someone can’t manage the hill to get in the beach, there’s a hotel a couple blocks down with a flat entryway to the beach. Overall, for our family, it’s not somewhere we’d book again.

This home is so cute! It's charming and old, not brand new and fancy. For sure, I wouldn't recommend staying here with the very elderly or anyone with physical disabilities. There are steep stairs inside and leading to the front door (rocks, though lit up well, will not great for those individuals). But, we loved it! We were traveling with kids and the close beach access was amazing? The little side yard has a patio that the kids used as a stage to make little shows for us. The home was clean and well equipped. Will hopefully stay here again!

The location of this home, right across the street from a public access to the beach, was absolutely perfect. I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves every night, and Rockaway is so peaceful in general. We had other family staying at the Tradewinds Motel across the street so this location was ideal. The double living room situation was perfect for my family, and everyone had their own bedrooms, which was nice when we needed a break from one another. Those who wanted to watch TV had a space and those who didn’t also had space. The outside areas could be improved and I hope the owner will be able to do so in the future. The house itself is quaint and vintage with a rustic cabin-like feel. If you’re after a palatial resort, this is not the space for you. Others have mentioned the uncomfortable beds, and I concur. The mattress I slept on made my hips hurt. Also, the electrical outlets in the bedrooms were only two prong and the whole house could really use a thorough deep cleaning. Carpets and couches are stained and a fresh paint job would help inside. That said, the place felt very comfortable and homey. Rustic, but charming. We would definitely stay here again.

Love the wood paneling.

We had a great time and the space was perfect for us and our extended family. Having two family rooms was clutch.

A great older Beach House just steps to the beach, very roomy kitchen and living rooms. We enjoyed the beach and the warmth and comfort of the house. Plenty of parking, Vacasa was flawless, no hassles, no issues. Not new and perfect, but comfortable like an old pair of treasured slippers. We would rent this house again.
