If I could give this property zero stars, I would. I wish I could also post the photos so you get the true picture of how terrible this place was. This place was absolutely filthy from top to bottom. There were dirty dishes and utensils in every cupboard and drawer, old food pieces, dead bugs, and debris throughout the kitchen. The floors were sticky, covered in stains, and so disgusting that none of us even took our shoes off inside. The chair covers were stained and grimy — we honestly didn’t even want to sit in them. Dead spiders were in the corners, the grill still had old food stuck to it, and the outdoor chairs were rusted, bent, and completely unusable. The refrigerator hadn’t been cleaned and had sticky residue and spilled juices all over. The dishwasher didn’t work, which probably explains why everything in the kitchen was filthy. It didn’t stop there — the shower drain wouldn’t drain, so the water just pooled at your feet. The ceiling fan in the bedroom had hair and who-knows-what stuck in the vents, and both TVs kept malfunctioning — they’d turn on with sound, then randomly shut off mid-movie or lose all sound entirely. Vacasa offered to send cleaners the next morning, but unless they were coming in wearing hazmat suits and armed with blowtorches, there’s no way they could have made this place livable while we were there. I called after our stay, sent numerous photos, and was only offered a small refund with an apology that it was “cleaned subpar.” Subpar?! That’s beyond insulting — this property was completely unsanitary and should never have been rented out in that condition. We would have been better off sleeping in a tent next to an outhouse than staying here. Never again will we book through Vacasa or stay at this property — not unless they hire new management, a new cleaning crew, and fully sanitize and deep-clean every inch of this home.
From the deer walking through the yard to the closeness of the ocean and the views we enjoyed our stay and had a good time.
We loved the location, the outdoor seating, and the big bathtub. Being so close to the beach was amazing and my parents loved picking blackberries in the yard. The driveway is pretty steep and the stairs would be difficult for someone with accessibility issues. The books and puzzles were really fun and I loved the collection of shells that are seemingly collected by visitors and left behind. Very charming and fun place!
We enjoyed our family vacation at Doolittle. The house is a two minute drive, or about ten minute walk, from a lovely semi-private beach. We do a lot of cooking and it had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, with lots of sleeping options!
Quiet location
Love me a good rustic cabin. Good size space for family and dog. The slight in the bathroom provided great natural light. Would have liked more skylights and windows in the main rooms that lacked natural (and artificial) light.
