This is an older home-so goes so say it is quaint & quirky The home is very dark!!! Hallway light did not work-had to leave the bathroom lights on to see down the hall. Bedside lamps in queen room didn't work. Not a house for puzzles. Also needs better outdoor lighting on the stairs (another story) Window in front room did not close all the way-so made it very drafty. Many on the plug ins were so loose that had to search to plug in devices THERE IS NO WASHER & DRYER. We were 5 older women for 5 nights-we were given 8 towels etc. Called guest services on 1st night after discovering hot tub had sand in it-said they would send someone to clean, also asked if we could get more towels-I was told to go the laundry mat. Really, they want me taking their stuff off property? After 2 days and still no clean hot tub-I called the local number and told Sarah about our issues with the towels & hot tub-she came within 15 minutes bringing towels and totally drained & cleaned the hot tub. Sarah was our savior-Thanks you so much Al least we got 2 days of using the hot tub. Entire house needs some TLC and a really good cleaning-blinds are really dirty On a positive note,we were given an adequate amount of TP! Would we rent this house again-No
I loved hearing the ocean every night and all day! Seeing it daily was the best Having options for places to sleep was great with a family of 6 Would stay again for sure
Loved the view. Didn’t love the house. I took out-of-town, 1st time visitors and this house didn’t live up to my expectations.
I’m going to give a pretty thorough review and include stuff that i scoured the other reviews looking for when packing and stuff that i hope will be resolved for future guests. Thoughts: - Gorgeous view! If you’re looking for a nice ocean view on a budget this is a great option! - Yard really needed a mow. -Blinds in master bedroom need cleaned. Honestly, house could really use a deep clean. Under the couches, some upstairs window screens, and a lot of corners haven’t been wiped down in some time. -there is a slight mildew smell(to be expected in a beach house from 1940). It was not very noticeable with the windows open. -The hot tub was clean and delightful. Loved being able to watch the ocean while sitting in it! -not really any children’s toys or beach toys- so if you are bringing kids plan to provide all of that yourself. we were able to track down Jenga, scrabble, a monopoly game and a deck of cards. There were an handful of puzzles as well. -Only 4 Beach/hot tub towels for 5 adults and 2 children. Plenty of white bath towels! We brought our own beach towels, but could be an issue for someone flying in. -they provided body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in both showers. -Master bedroom tv has the ability to access streaming services. Main tv is set up for cable/dvd blue ray player only. (We brought a Roku stick with us that plugged in, so we were able to stream). -There was no plug for the bathtub so we had to improvise one to give the littles bath time. - Looks like they have fixed the issue with the bed slats. I don’t see any way to fall through them. -Kitchen is well equipped with an assortment of pots/pans/utensils and even has left over spices. No ice. -plumbing worked great. Summary: if you’re looking for a quirky vintage house with a view, this house could be great for you! If you’re looking for a up to date house with all modern conveniences, you may want to keep looking.
A few blocks from beach access (if you can handle a lot of stairs) with a great view and a hot tub overlooking the ocean. Beds are very comfortable, and there is ample room to spread out. No washer or dryer access, so bring all the clothes you'll need for the duration of your stay. Some furniture is in need of repairs and the lighting in the kitchen is very dim. We would stay here again, but will bring more clothes and a bag of ice (no ice cube trays).
We loved our time at this home. The ocean views are amazing. You cannot access the beach from the backyard as it is on a cliff, but there are beach access stairs just a few steps away. We loved being able to go down to the beach easily and quickly multiple times! Beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. There isn’t central heat so it was cold sometimes but there is a fireplace and plenty of heaters and blankets. We loved the hot tub with a view! There isn’t access to the laundry room so just keep that in mind.
