Overall this is a nice private property on the cliffs looking at the ocean. The drawbacks were the limited kitchen tools and lack of full sets of bath towels given the number of bathrooms and size of the house.
This home had a beautiful, relaxing view of the ocean. The house was laid well for privacy of guests. The grounds offered privacy. The TV had basic channels. I brought an adaptor to mirror my iPad. It met our needs for our 4 night visit, but I think it could use some minor improvements that would bring this place up to 5 stars. The supplies in the kitchen were extremely minimal. There are lids but no pots, a very large and very small fry pan, nothing in between. There was a drip coffee pot. A Keurig with coffee pods would be a nice update. The paper towels, toilet paper and Kleenex were the least expensive on the market. For the price, an upgrade would be expected. The towels were fair and could use an update. The microwave was unusable. I sent Vacasa pictures. The refrigerator had a noticeable odor. Items like extra paper towels, soap, napkins, foil, etc. should be basic items supplied. There were very minimal supplies for washer/dryer. Overall I rate it a 3 for these reasons.
This is a fabulous house with spectacular views of the ocean. We loved sitting out back and watching the waves, the sea birds, and the sunsets.
All view sunset waterfall Beautiful place I have stayed at other places in area nothing compares Will only go here next time
The location and privacy of this house exceeded our expectations - it is gated, with a beautiful view of the waves and cove below (the surf was very rough and dramatic during our visit). A short walk through the side gate gets you out onto the bluff with a more expansive view. It's just a few minutes north of Mendocino (very close to Pt. Cabrillo lighthouse and Russian Gulch State Park), centrally located with respect to most of the major sights and activities along the stretch of coastline between Albion and Fort Bragg. The master bedroom suite is just fantastic - the king-sized bed overlooks the ocean and the whole layout is extremely comfortable. The furniture and decor throughout the home is simple, tasteful, and fairly sparse. Potential guests should be aware that the house is laid out in a way that is best suited for a couple or a family with 1-3 kids - the secondary bedrooms are not nearly as sumptuous as the master, do not have views, and the beds are small (1 is a double, I think, and 1 is a daybed). The kitchen is huge and very functional, with a Subzero fridge and gas range. Cooking utensils and tableware were all of high quality but a little sparse, so we were glad we'd brought a zester, a citrus squeezer, and we could have used another cooking pot or two. Overall this was a great find - there are very few rental houses this close to the water along this gorgeous coastline! We had a great time over Christmas week and would love to come back!
We spent 3 nights in this great Mendocino house with a beautiful view of a rocky cove and the ocean. We cooked in every night. The kitchen was top notch. We would definitely stay here again!
