AV488 Carolina Breeze 488 is described as a beautiful, reasonably priced, and highly recommended beach house that feels spacious, comfortable, cozy, and inviting for families and groups. The home is noted for being very clean, nicely decorated, well stocked, and equipped with newer appliances and a kitchen suitable for preparing meals. Its peaceful and private setting offers easy access to the beach, nearby restaurants, grocery stores, and a walkable neighborhood, while still feeling tucked away and secluded. Guests especially praise the gorgeous views of the sound, marshes, dunes, wildlife, and memorable sunsets from the large windows, decks, and balconies. Amenities highlighted positively include plenty of room to spread out, a community pool, dog-friendly accommodations, board games, and a table that converts for pool and ping pong. The property is also appreciated for natural light, a safe and quiet atmosphere, and a relaxing setting that encourages repeat stays.

Beautifully positioned on the sound-front, this home overlooks the private Hatteras wetlands that border the soundside coastline. Here in the Kinnakeet Shores neighborhood, you'll find the perfect spot for nature viewing as you relax at the top of the Carolina Breeze.

Begin on the top level, which offers a kitchen with a brand-new refrigerator, a dishwasher, a Keurig, and an air fryer. This level is partitioned by a breakfast bar and completed with an updated dining set that includes two large bench seats. As an added secret bonus, this dining room table can be converted into both a pool table and a Ping-Pong table by removing the top. Dinner, dessert, family game night - it all happens here!

Down the half-flight central staircase is the main living room with a large TV and a minibar. The massive windows, from floor to ceiling, capture a picture-perfect view overlooking the sound and incredible sunsets.

One floor below, on the main level, you'll find a brand-new washer/dryer, a queen bedroom, and a dual-pyramid bedroom. Down on the lower level is a uniquely laid-out primary suite that includes a king bed, an additional double bed, a jetted tub, and a subdivided bathroom space. The entire home has gone through recent renovations, including a newly painted interior, a new HVAC and plumbing system, and new Adirondack deck chairs.

Outside, the ground level features a brand-new gas grill and an outdoor shower. Take an evening stroll to view the sunset or, in the opposite direction, a morning walk to the beach along the community walkway. This home also includes access to the Kinnakeet Shores Pool and Tennis.

We loved the expansive balcony views over the sound and the secluded, wooded setting - no nearby houses made it feel truly private. The home is very spacious, and all the appliances are new and worked perfectly. A few things could be improved: the master bedroom had a strong odor and needs deeper cleaning/deodorizing; the combo pool/ping-pong table is fun, but a proper dining table for group meals would be great; and the kitchen could use more basic utensils (no colander, and the pans are pretty dated). Overall, a truly gorgeous house with only a few fixable issues!

This home is well located near public beach access, in a great walk-able neighborhood. We loved the sunsets from the elevated deck and being able to sit outside and see the sound and nature, not the back of another home. Our family enjoyed our stay and were happy to be able to bring our pups as well! Please note, part of the yard has small native cactus, which limited the outdoor access for the dogs, but the grassy side yard is sufficient. It was difficult to tell from the description, but as of the date of this review, the house does have all utensils and any other kitchenware needed for your stay. Although we loved having access to the pool table/ping-pong table, as others commented the paddles need to be replaced, as does the ping-pong net, and the pool sticks could use some chalk too. Parts of the home are somewhat dated but all appliances are newer, clean, and in great working order.
