Great place to stay, we had a nice breeze on the top deck while we were there. Hot tub was newer and very clean. I plan to stay here again!
This is a wonderful vacation home. Tucked away in the trees helped it feel more secluded, though you could see a few homes from the top floor. The ocean was even visible in the distance. We enjoyed the hot tub at night and looking up to see all the stars. There were really only two relatively minor things that I didn't care for. First off, there is no good dining room table. There is a small table on the bottom floor, but that's two floors below the kitchen, and not very big. There was a nice small table on the deck for two that we enjoyed using for several meals. Also, the upstairs bedroom was missing a curtain over the sliding glass door (looked like there once was one there) and the sun came right in that door onto the bed in the morning (in September anyway). Even if that is fixed, the curtains at the head of the bed are as shown in the photos with thin white material. I guess that is great if you are a morning person, and presumably many people are as I see similar things in many other rental homes. But for me, I'd rather have a nice dark bedroom so I can sleep in while on vacation. The other bedrooms were all fine with darker window coverings. We didn't need all the bedrooms for our trip, so that room was left unoccupied. We enjoyed another of the bedrooms and it had a very comfortable mattress. If those things are not a problem for you, I would highly recommend this house, we had a wonderful stay! I definitely didn't want to go back home...
PROS -So much space, especially for a single family, -A full bath (with shower) on each floor. -The kitchenette on the bottom floor is nice. -Plenty of towels and the linens were clean and of good quality. -The hot tub was clean and in working order with a cover. It was nice having it outside on the top balcony because there were not many bugs, however you did hear a faint humming sound from it all the time. -Plenty of parking -An outside hose right by where you park to wash off sandy feet. -Washer and dryer were large and in great condition. -More than sufficient closet and drawer space in bedrooms. CONS -Having the living room and kitchen on the top floor made for so many stairs. We knew that when booking, but it really was hard going up and done so much, especially when moving in and out. -The surface areas were clean, but the longer we stayed the less clean it felt. There were a lot of kitchen items to use, but most felt dirty. We also noticed the air vents were caked with dust/dirt. The whole place, especially the kitchen needs a deep clean. -You could hear barking dogs pretty constantly during our stay. It may have been from a neighboring guest but I believe it was a permanent resident. -You couldn't adjust the thermostat, it was permanently set at 70. -No official dining table on the top "main" floor. I'm not sure how they would change the layout but I've never stayed somewhere without a dining or kitchen table near the kitchen. There were high-top bar seats on a raised part of the island but we really missed having a table near the kitchen.
Beds slept nicely! Overall clean. Liked the natural light present in all areas of the home. Our family of 6 stayed very comfortably and had plenty of room for more!
The home is in the heart of Buxton, we couldn’t ask for a better location. Views were great. Few hiccups, however over all we had a good experience.
The area and close proximity to our favorite area.
