Dune It Right

First the good - this is the best location possible in the area. It’s walkable to several restaurants, grocery store, pier, and a sits right on a beautiful beach where the ocean is close, but not too close. Beach access is right outside the back deck. The furnishings are comfortable and arranged nicely to take in the beautiful sea views. There are multiple bedrooms that can also take in the views and even a deck off the bedroom. Beds were comfy. You can view gorgeous sunrises without even getting out of bed. The owners seem to have made recent improvements like new window$$ and flooring in certain areas along with some upgrades in bathrooms. It’s an older home that’s seen many renters over the years. It’s a bit dated, but that didn't concern us. I think it was actually built better than many of the newer homes we have rented in the past as you didn’t hear people above you every time they took a step, nor any noise from the living room if you went into the bedroom and closed the door. They had every small appliance you could want in the kitchen including both a drip and a kurig coffee maker. No wine glasses so if you are wine drinkers, bring some along. We made due with disposable cups so it worked out fine. Vacasa addressed both an issue we had unlocking the door on arrival (probably a misunderstanding on our part) and a moldy shower curtain, both immediately - getting us in successfully, and delivering a new shower liner. Checkout instructions were the easiest we’ve ever had. Now for the not-so-good - the dishwasher was terrible. Yes, it worked fine, but it smelled horribly of mildew and it deposited black gunk on the dishes. We cleaned it thoroughly ourselves so we would be able to use it, then ran it through 2 sanitize cycles. The tub in the upstairs bathroom didn't drain when taking a shower. The fan blades on the bedroom ceiling fans were very dirty - we didn’t use them. The air exchange vent downstairs was full of layers and layers of dirt. There was a sock and tissue under the bed from prior renters and a live large cockroach in the downstairs hall bathroom. I still gave it 3 stars mainly for location but obviously there are multiple things that need to be addressed here.

Great house. Plenty of space, comfortable furniture, very clean

Plenty of room, lots of bathrooms, Ocean front view and a pool. A great place to relax and enjoy family.

Very worn out with damage and aging everywhere. Cant see the beach (which does make it private). Hot tub is in a dumpy rear porch not really as the photo suggests. No west gacing porch- this is a really unneeded second TV room. Wood is lifting on all porches and stairs making walking on the porch is a dangerous and splintery experience. Pool is nice but worn and damaged. Doors off rails, mattresses worn, appliances aging and poorly functional. Location is good and beach is nice in this area. It worked for us but is overpriced for what it is. I will not book this property again.

We had several issues, dishwasher did not work, code for bathroom was wrong and took 4 days to get the right one. The place was not clean the stove and oven were dirty and it was very old. The pictures you show on the site must be from 20 years ago the place is very dated. The washer did not spin correctly we figured out that only the quick wash cycle would work. The pool was dirty. Toilet kept overflowing in the downstairs bathroom. We were very disappointed with this property.

House was great, had everything we needed. Would stay again but book thru someone else.
