Overview

Paradise Penthouse Unit #301 is a third-floor condo with a king main bedroom and two singles in the additional bedroom. We allow you to bring two dogs with you on vacation.

The Durant Station Condominiums offer spectacular ocean views from every property. All condos have private oceanfront decks, as well as sound side decks for viewing colorful sunsets. Elevator service to all levels makes Durant Station a most convenient choice for all ages: no need to haul luggage and groceries up long flights of stairs! Guests are just a few short steps to the ocean via a private wooden walkway. The Hatteras area offers some of the best fishing and sunbathing on the East Coast.

At Durant Station, you'll enjoy a host of amenities including one of Hatteras Island's largest private pools with an adjacent hot tub available from April 1 - January 2. The Durant Station Community Center is crowned by the original historic Durant Lifesaving Station tower, a rich piece of Hatteras Island's past. You'll find the Community Center ideal for relaxing with friends, conducting meetings, wedding parties, and receptions, or simply enjoying the lounge areas, which offer a 50-inch large-screen plasma TV, and a complete kitchen on the upper level. The Durant Station complex consists of three floors, which start about 12 feet above the ground. The parking lot and walks are paved with concrete.

All retreats are tastefully furnished (there are new mattresses on each bed!) and fully equipped with linens to make your stay comfortable as well as memorable. All Durant Station condos have central A/C, cable TV with HBO, Satellite HDTV with DVR, wireless high-speed Internet for your laptop, solid surface counters in the kitchen, and sprinkler safety systems for your peace of mind.

Centrally located on the first floor is a coin-operated laundry facility (which even offers an ocean view). Some getaways have a stackable washer/dryer. A large separate fish cleaning station, BBQ grills and outdoor shower facilities complete the picture. The Durant Station Condominiums are located in Hatteras Village, oceanfront on Highway 12. Enjoy being beachfront and near local restaurants and shops.

This home has access to a community pool, the community pools in our area are typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Community pools are operated at the discretion of the community HOA so the availability schedule may be subject to change without notice.

My husband and I always enjoy time away in August after our college-aged children head back to college. We had a wonderful time! Great view and location! The condo was clean and perfect for our time away. We loved being able to bring our dogs and the condos and beach were dog friendly. We had some minor issues with the WiFi, but we were able to hotspot with our phones and that worked fine. We highly recommend this property!

I’d say a 7 out of 10 for this condo. View is exceptional and getting to the beach is so easy! When we arrived, place was very clean except two minor things being pet hair on the king bedspread and tile floor could use an upgrade or a deep clean. Other than those two items, we were pleased with the cleanliness. The sliding door should be fixed, it’s extremely hard to open and shut. AC had a bit of a musty smell. The pool was great except one day of our trip. There was a very rowdy crowd there one day so we left the pool. I know there is not much that can be done about this because it is not a life guarded pool, but just a FYI to future renters, that it appears others that aren’t staying at the Durant Station also use the pool and may not be respectful. But the other days were all fine at the pool this past week. I was going to book again for next July and see the price is almost $1,000 more. I don’t think it’s worth that much given it only sleeps 4 people so I will most likely pay a bit more and rent a house next year. Overall though, I would recommend the place, but for off season when price is cheaper or if pricing comes down a bit. * For future renters… for a fine dining experience, totally recommend Dinky’s!!! But arrive as soon as they open at 5:00 p.m. it is normally a hour to 2.5 hour wait the later you go and what day of the week you go. *For a great food that is less expensive, especially with kids, highly recommend ISOLA!!! Amazing pizza, wings, cheesesteak and the Smash Burger…. Super good!!! * Hatteras Parasailing is a 10 out of 10! Very nice people and experienced at what they do!

Like the new kitchen utensils and drawer dividers. WiFi is weak and has been for the last 3 years. Some windows are extremely hard to open.
