Upon arriving, we found the downstairs laundry room open and unlocked so it appears the property isn’t managed closely, all dishes needed to be washed, including plates, cups and utensils because they were all dirty. We discovered a fossilized tree frog behind the living room area, a dead spider in the bathroom and the floors also had dirt and dust bunnies with hair in them. All four mattresses were uncomfortable with very stiff bedspreads, with the exception of one white blanket. Then on Wednesday ( due to check out on Friday)a company came to drop off linens for the next guests, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome. Over all, yes the property is nice with regard to walking distance from the beach , however, we were underwhelmed and disgusted with the cleanliness and comfort. Sadly, this isn’t our first time visiting this home or complaining about cleanliness, so we will not be coming back next year.

A nice beach house that was within easy walking distance to the beach. The beach also wasn’t overly crowded in the area, which was a big bonus. We had fun climbing the dune foot path and searching for sea shells. The house had plenty of seating and nice sized kitchen. We had everything we needed to cook small meals. It was also very quiet in the neighborhood and had plenty of small restaurant options within a ten-minute drive. I saw another review about the coffee maker, and it does leave a little to be desired since it’s single serve and older. It gave me an excuse to run out in the mornings to try one of the many local options. The house could use a good deep cleaning since it is an animal-friendly rental, but the kitchen and bathrooms were clean. The use of the Vacasa pool in Avon was nice when we wanted to take a break from the beach. We enjoyed our time and the peacefulness of the house and neighborhood.

The house was super clean, had everything that we needed and was steps from the beach. Not far from restaurants, ice cream and Hatteras. We will definitely be back!!
