The views of the ocean from the third floor deck, along with the soothing sounds of the crashing wages were a wonderful break from work life. The kids loved the pool. It was our cleanest rental experience yet.
Proximity to the beach was great. The house was very dated, but had a certain charm.
It was a nice quiet, peaceful beachouse. The beach was never crowded. It was great for boogie boarding. The ocean is too rough in Rodanthe for small children.
Overall this was a nice beach house, well maintained and very clean, with good amenities and a well appointed kitchen. I had some minor questions at the start and they were promptly answered by Vacasa. The charcoal grill is old, with wide grate, we opted not to use it and broil. We didn't get to use the hot tub due to sight seeing early in the week, and when Saturday came to use it, it didn't work. I called and they sent someone out right away, he said it was the circuit breaker at 4 pm. I really wanted the electrician to come right then and replace it, but no electrician until Sunday morning about 10 am. So we had hot tub Sunday and it was nice. The room with the twin beds is hot, the vent is under a bed and there is a fan, but it's hot. Don't care for the bunk bed room, only good for kids and no ceiling fan or bedside light, bed is hard to make. They gave us one kitchen towel, I asked for more. The bath towels are the cheapest, thinnest, scratchiest I've ever seen and the house has no blow dryer. Plan on bringing your own kitchen garbage bags too. Sounds like a lot, but it wasn't. Overall good house, good price and I would return again. They have it nicely decorated with beach decor. It is an awesome location to walk to the beach and pier, and site see entire OBX, great deck views, and is not in danger of sinking into the ocean! The salt water pool was lovely in May, didn't use heat for the extra charge, was a cool 75 degrees and wonderful. I treated my family and we had a wonderful vacation here that I'll cherish the rest of my life.
I have stayed in four different houses for vacation over the years. This was not the best, but far from bad. The first night had some issues, but accepted the fact it is what it was. The bathroom on the second floor was dripping water from the exhaust fan onto the floor. I had reported, but no follow up on my concern. The third floor sliding door had an horrible leak of water onto the carpet with any major rain even outside. Otherwise, It’s a nice little walk to the Rodanthe pier. Pool and hot tub were fantastic. House was a tad small for the rental price. I might consider to rent again if I don’t find anything more reasonable to consider next year.
We've been coming to the Tri-Villages area for 40+ years and this was our first experience with Vacasa. Quite honestly I prefer the smaller, local rental companies and will rent from one of them in the future. While the views from this house are amazing and the salt water pool was wonderful, we had numerous issues while staying here...from problems with the electronics to bugs! And the beach left a lot to be desired!
