Very nice and close to the beach ⛱️
It would have been nice to stay for 2 weeks.
Need lights on the front porch cannot see of a night going downstairs. The beds were very hard did not sleep good the whole week. Had lots of spiders inside the house
Not that we expected the Ritz by any means- and the house served its purpose of having a roof over our heads. There are quite a few things of feedback that we encountered on our stay. 1- the kitchen has about five plates, three cups, and ONE single serve bowl. Plan on either not having enough dishes or washing them after every meal depending on the size of your group. 2- whatever composite flooring was put on the top porch for the pilots watch is hotter than the sand. Be prepared that even wearing flip flops ours started melting if we stayed up there too long, much less you can’t touch it barefoot or even with socks, and even at sunrise it was hotter than anything. Also on that note, a lot of stuck out or bent nails on the actual deck portion to where you should still only wear shoes when going out. 3- the doorknob from the dining area to the screened in porch only sometimes turned- and sometimes locked you out as well. It was a struggle to use this door, and really was inconvenient if it was raining or the screen door was latched on the outside. Learned our lesson! 3- speaking of screen doors, this one was very ripped and seemed to be hanging off the hinges. 4- the drains throughout the house seemed to be very clogged, and the shower in the left hand side of the house was one of the smallest showers I’ve ever used. Pretty much unusable unless if you’re a stick! 5- I know “water bugs” and roaches or whatever people want to call them can happen in even the cleanest house. But not only did we encounter a few of those friends, but we also had problems with spiders, ants, and ticks. The house might need additional pest control to help subdue the issue. 6- Not that our cleaner didn’t do a good job, but there’s only so much lipstick you can put on a pig. The (very) old furniture was all stained, and the beds were very uncomfortable. Walls in the bathrooms seemed to have questionable chunks taken out of the corners, and the kitchen counter seemed to be very saggy where the microwave sat. Overall, the house was a house, and we were a short walk from the beach. This would be such a cute beach box if there was just basic updates made to make it feel not so…stained 70’s vibe. Otherwise we enjoyed what OBX had to offer!
