NTB104 Seas Escape

The house is fine, and the location and setting are great. I wish I could rate the maintenance separately, but since I have one public rating I have to rate them together. The elevator broken multiple times, which caused problems for older members of the family that have issues with stairs. After several days with no, or wrong, communication, the elevator was fixed only to break again the next day. This time they didn't even bother to respond. Worse, a pipe burst, flooding the house. We found the cutoff and had to shut off water to the entire house. We called and texted but no one called us back until 10 hours later. We cleaned up the water as best we could but the house was left with rusty smell. We finally got water back after 12 or 13 hours. Worst of all was the utter lack of communication. No matter how severe the issue (a flooded house) we had to go through the offshore answering service who weren't able to give us any actual information. Based on this experience I will never stay with vacasa again.

This house is absolutely beautiful! It was perfect for the 16 of us. We go every fall to Surf City/North Topsail and this has been the best house so far. The bedroom layout was perfect! The elevator was a huge help in unloading suitcases and groceries. The living room was large enough for all of us and plenty of room for the little kids to play after dark. The kitchen had everything we needed…I always bring a couple of favorites from home so we were all set. The freezer smelled like fish but we put a box of baking soda in it and the next day it was fine! Don’t let the reviews cause you to overlook this house

Home was plenty big enough for whole family. Only complaint I would have was no access to beach from 3 floor deck have to go all the way downstairs or through bedrooms to get beach access.

The house was spacious and beautiful. It fit our family of 19. We loved the oceanfront location and our week had some amazing water. We had little ones and the water was nice to play in along with tidal pools in the evening. The upper deck shows the sunrise in the morning and the sun sets in the evening on the back side of the house. The evenings were very nice to gather in the upper deck and visit. The house was chocked full of most everything we needed. There were some simple items like no baking sheets and no measuring spoons. Overall there was space for everyone and we had the air conditioning was great and the views spectacular. We want to go back!

The good: Plenty of dishes, pots, & pans for a large group. 2 coffee pots :) There is plenty of comfortable seating in the living room & enough chairs to fit our large group for dinner. Room for improvement: Would be nice to have some measuring spoons. No kitchen towels, so bring your own. While there is an outside shower, it isn't enclosed. I think it would cut down on the amount of sand tracked in if you could shower off, especially the kids. Housekeeping left much to be desired. We found 5 pills in the kid's bunk room, along with dirty socks & 2 honeybuns under the beds. The pills were Cialis & an anti-anxiety drug. One was found between the comforter & wall which makes me question if the sheets were even changed. The others were found on the floor, in plain sight. I messaged Vacassa & was told to be sure to throw them away. Thank goodness our kids were smart enough to bring the one found on the bed to us & not eat it! After that, we searched the room & found 4 more different ones. We can handle sand on the floor, etc. but this was unacceptable. The house itself was nice & roomy, but I will always be leary of renting from vacassa again.
