NTB1938 Topsail Serenity

We really enjoyed our stay in N Topsail. This house is one row back from the beach but still has good water views and a short easy walk to the beach. The beds were comfortable, and the 4 bathrooms helpful. Newly built and clean! It is on 4 levels, so there are plenty of stairs, but the elevator helped a lot. I would go again!

We have been to North Topsail multiple times (topsail dunes, shipwatch villas, shipwatch townhomes, and St. Regis) and this was the nicest place yet. This is a great space for two families as the three floors helps everyone have their own space. Plenty of room for family meals. Perfect location just a few steps away from beach access. Chairs for the beach, boogie boards, and 2 kayaks available in the storage closet underneath. Covered area for parking, private outdoor shower... and a pool that was large enough for everyone to use. The only negatives were that the Wi-Fi was not stellar - but that was a kid complaint. On vacation it shouldn't matter that much unless you have to work remotely. Also, there's a bit of a water dripping/ condensation issue in the kitchen above the stove. Other than that, no complaints.

House location zzzz

Upon arrival, we were met with a sour stench that we found was the garbage cans filled with trash and flies. Cockroaches – Scurrying about outside around the parking area AND inside. Upon opening the main door and turning the light on, a cockroach ran from the hallway to under the utility closet. We opened the closet but were unable to find the bug. There were also 2 more in the kitchen. They also got away before we could exterminate. Elevator – Was inoperable. I texted customer service for assistance and the response said to wait as it can take a little bit of time for it to get there. It was apparent that it was not going to work, and customer service never followed up. Ultimately my daughter was burdened with the exhausting task of unloading the car and carrying everything up and down many levels of stairs. Kitchen – Oven was dirty with food at the bottom. When the oven door was opened, burnt food fell to the floor. Handles/cabinets/chairs had dried food and grease on them. Hand soap was so low nothing would come out to wash hands. Dried food and dirt under kitchen table. Floors – Dirty. No floor surfaces were mopped so couldn’t walk in our bare feet. In a small area in front the oven was wiped down with a paper towel and it turned out black; same with in front of the elevator, and one of the stair landings (video & pictures attached). Area rugs had dog pee and stains on/under them showing that they hadn’t been washed properly. the rug you could tell the pee went all the way through and were food crumbs under them as well. Our dog found a hard golf ball sized piece of food under the third-floor bed. Thank God we were able to wrestle it out of his mouth before he ingested whatever it was. (Photos attached showing dirty paper towels from wiping floors, and piece of food my dog found in the 3rd floor bedroom) Walls – Every room had big black marks on them and at the top of the stairs to the main floor, there was build up on the entry way due to people touching them or rubbing past. One of the stair wells had a huge 7–8-inch crack that separated the stairs from the wall. Beach gear – Not provided as advertised. We ‘think’ it was behind a locked door under the stairs, but no instructions or key provided for access. Patio & Deck – Was advertised online but we couldn’t figure out where they were located. Private Hot tub/Grill - Private access but no privacy Deceptive online advertising – Photos are not recent. Lots of decks, comfortable furniture and plenty of room for our two families to spread out!
