SC1314 Shore Sensation

Our three generation family enjoyed our stay at Shore Sensation. It's perfectly located within walking distance of the pier, shops, and restaurants a mile away while still feeling far enough from the action to still be relaxing. The outdoor furniture was the perfect comfortable perch to have a morning coffee while watching the dolphins in the surf. There is a ton of kitchen serving and cookware for an army so great for a family that cooks. We have been coming to Surf City for two decades now and while it's growing and changing, some things stay the same... Shore Sensation provided many moments to enjoy some nostalgia.

Overall, Shore Sensation is a lovely property with great amenities. The layout, featuring a bathroom for each bedroom, was perfect for our group. However, the property is showing some wear and could use a bit of TLC, as several items need general maintenance, such as rusting keypads and door locks. We also had a safety concern with the deck, which had a noticeable “drop” in the deck boards and an issue with the joists. Vacasa responded promptly, but repairs were scheduled to take place after our departure. It was disappointing not to be able to enjoy the deck, especially since the beachfront views were a major reason we chose this property.

This house has about everything you’d need! Great kitchen appliances, tons of books and games, bicycles, grills, game room, great layout and elevator for luggage and groceries. The ice machine was icing on the cake! Excellent! We will be back!

The location and views

This is the first house we've rented in topsail where we would stay again. Overall, it had everything we needed--comfortable beds, plenty of furniture, and a well-stocked kitchen. There were more beach supplies than I have ever seen, from a full closet of beach accessories, to a garage full of bikes and paddle boards. The house shows its wear, but for the price, ocean front and such a close location to restaurants and shopping, it is an excellent value. The beach did get a bit more crowded than our stays up north on the island. It is right next to public access, so keep that in mind. The only issue we had is that the game room AC was broken during our entire stay. We contacted vacasa, and someone looked at it right away, but did not repair it. This was a bummer, as we had a bunch of kids really looking forward to using that space (and adults hoping to send them down there!). That said, the owner did offer us a partial credit for the inconvenience, which we felt was fair.
