PKT10 Pine Knoll Townes #2

Lovely place steps from the beach. Watch the sunrise and ocean from bedroom balcony. Everything you need to make meals or close enough to go out or have delivery..clean and welcoming. Outdoor pool is nice. Furniture could use updating, especially the mattresses. Overall, we are extremely happy here and it is our favorite rental. I highly recommend this townhouse in the quiet friendly community.

-Countertops felt gritty, wiped sand off of them. -Tile floors downstairs full of sand, used our vacation time vacuuming them. -Found both toilet seats coming off the toilet. Used our vacation time adjusting them so kids could use the bathroom. They are not fastened to the toilet correctly. Imagine having 2 little kids trying to use the toilet that the seats move and come off. -Hallway light switch is loose, feels like it's going to fall out of the wall when turning the lights on. -Ceiling fans upstairs caked with dust, we are not turning them on in case dust flies off. -Vacuumed upstairs completely, could see debris on carpet. -Black mildew or mold came off the shower drain when the shower was turned on. -Dead bug was on the bed on the “fresh” sheets. -popcorn from previous stay inside the microwave. -some sort of medical patch wrapper left in the refrigerator. Not a great first impression from Vacasa. This is not the first unit we have stayed at Pine Knoll Townes. However, this is the first time we have stayed at a Vacasa managed one. Was told they would call me when the place was ready because we got there early, around 12:30. That never happened. Came back to the office at 3:45 and was handed the keys as if we had no previous interaction. Blue chair was comfortable however looks filthy. Couch is extremely uncomfortable. It's worn out. Bed in main bedroom is uncomfortable and extremely noisy. Sliding doors are hard to open and close. I was told the local office would reach out to me to address the issues. That never happened.

We had a great stay at Pine Knoll Townes #2. We were steps from the beach which was so convenient. We enjoyed spending time on the deck in the evening. The view was beautiful!

We loved the location of this place! So convenient and a beautiful view of the ocean off the balcony.

The location is spot on. Right outside the front door, is the pool and community deck. It's a very short walk to the beach. The beach is not overwhelmingly crowded. You can't beat the view from the upstairs porch as well. We are able to watch dolphins swim by every year. Our families have been coming to these same Pine Knolls townhouses for 10 years. Highly recommended for the price, the view and the location. But what really turns us off, is the local "Karen" or HOA that continues to add rules every year. Keep in mind, we've been going to the same location for the past 10 years. Every year, they make up something different. This year, Karen told us we could not bring in the lounge chairs from the community area to the pool area. We have been able to for years until now. There are rules to the pools posted. One of the rules posted said "no personal chairs" but nothing about loungers that are provided as part of the amenities. I don't recall reading in Vacasa agreement about these new rules or receiving a HOA handbook of these new rules and regulations either. Kids,13 and under, are not allowed to be in the pool without parental/adult supervision. Totally understandable. BUT they have only 2 benches that seat about 2-3 people. So parents or adults that don't want to swim but need to be in there, have to share those benches or they have very hot concrete to sit or layout on. And then by mid-week, Karen decides to tell us that we don't need to hang the towels on the fencing because "it's not sturdy enough to hold towels." None of these rules are posted, but Karen will be watching and she will make sure you know the rules personally. So, if you take your kids to the pool, be prepared to share 2 benches or sit/lay on the steamy hot concrete or stand and hold towels.
