We loved location of the resort: great ocean, close to the Fort and restaurants. Units in the resort are very snug, my husband is not a huge person, he had to move through corridor/kitchen with shoulders turned. I used second shower and it was very claustrophobic.
The condo smelled very musty and damp. You could see water damage in the master bedroom ceiling and walls. I'm not sure if that's what caused the smell or not. It could have been the standing water in the dishwasher. This unit also had a washer/dryer, and I'm not sure if the dryer was vented outside, or into the unit, which could have caused the smell also. We got used to the smell, but when we stayed a night at a friend's house, when we came back it seemed stronger. We had to re-wash everything we had in the unit and put our suitcases outside to get rid of the smell. We also noticed that under the beds, dressers, etc., were NOT cleaned. No one vacuumed under them, which makes it hard for people like me with allergies. The captain chairs on the deck were great - we loved that they were high enough to see over the railing.
Overall we had a pleasant stay. Place was in need of a deep cleaning though. Didn’t see any bugs which was good. Furniture wasn’t ideal due to the material. Not easily wiped down, recliners and such. Mattresses were old and uncomfortable. Amenities are always great at “A Place at the Beach” which is why we keep coming. This unit wasn’t bad, we’ve just stayed in nicer before.
The unit is well maintained and comfortable. The color scheme seems more suited to New England but overall very nice.
