SB73 The Respite

This house is huge and well laid out. The home needs a little tlc, but the furniture was clean and comfy. The location is only a few steps to the boardwalk heading over the dunes to the beach at the very end of the island. At the end of September, we practically had the beach to ourselves! We had a wonderful stay!

So, here’s the deal. Our family has been going to Sunset Beach for over 40 years. The first decade or so, we were trying a different beach house every year. Most were fairly nice, but we wanted to try a new house every summer. That is, until we found The Respite. We loved the place so much, we’ve kept coming back year after year, decade after decade. :-) There’s much to like – lots of light, the roof deck, but especially, especially if the two large living areas. It’s great for our family, with one area for the kids to play in, and another one for the adults to use. My only hesitation in posting this review is that more people will find out about this hidden jewel, making it harder for our family to make a reservation. So, we’ve already made a reservation for next year… :-)

Really enjoyed our stay here. The house is in a perfect location nestled in the marsh but also within close walking distance to the beach boardwalk. There is a beautiful deck up top that is great for watching the sunrise or sunset over the marsh. The property is quite spacious with extra parking in the adjacent lot and perfect for family games or grilling. This is a great spot for the island and the house was perfect for our family. We will definitely be back!

This house has plenty of room for a large family. The included lot next door was a great place to play corn hole and even set up a volleyball net. This extra lot is such an added bonus !!!The walk to the beach was easy and the views from the top deck are breathtaking. I will definitely be back!!
