We were thrilled with the space, the amenities in the home, & location to public beach access. The home had everything we needed and more. We were excited to find beach chairs & extra fridge space in the garage, each bathroom had soap, shampoo, & conditioner in the bathtub, and the kitchen was well stocked. There was even a baby gate installed at the top of the stairs for little movers!

The house was in a good area and we rented a golf cart to make the treks to the beach less cumbersome.

We were really looking forward to our beach week, but sadly, this home fell short of expectations. The location is excellent — close to restaurants, shops, and an easy walk to beach access with public bathrooms — but ongoing cleanliness and safety issues made it hard to fully relax, and we ultimately decided to leave early, despite having paid for the full week. When we arrived, the house and fridge had a strong, unpleasant odor. Beds were sandy before we even used them, and surfaces like vents, windowsills, and ladders were grimy. We also found a knife tucked into the couch cushions and broken or loose slats under the couch and a bed. The outdoor shower wasn’t private or practical, especially after the beach, and lacked a step stool or front latch on the gate. We also found food left out in the kitchen and seafood stored in the basement freezer. Families with small children or dogs should be cautious: the home has multiple exterior doors and fencing that wouldn’t contain a curious pet. This house has a lot of potential due to its location, but it needs a thorough cleaning, safety updates, and basic maintenance. We wouldn’t stay again unless those issues are addressed.

The house was perfect for our family of 5 to be able to relax and enjoy the beach. It was a nice walk to the beach and the wagon at the rental made transporting cooler and chairs a breeze. There were great beach chairs at the location to use and a hose to spray off the items by the garage. The covered porch off the front is nice and deep so sitting outside in the morning with coffee was always a good choice. There is a beautiful tree right out front that offers great shade too. The den had good seating for everyone. But there was a big space downstairs to watch basketball or shows in the evening. Our kids enjoyed having the downstairs space to themselves. They said the bunk beds were the super comfortable and they were large. We found the beds upstairs a bit firm for our taste but there were lots of pillows and extra blankets too. The washer and dryer worked great for swimsuits and beach towels which made it nice to not have to pack so many beach towels for the stay. The kitchen had everything we needed and to note there was even a big pot that would have made for a nice low country boil or for crabs. The microwave was bit small for some plates but we didn’t do much reheating so not a big deal. Awesome refrigerator space. We did lots of cooking (Even a ham for Easter) and found there was room for fresh fruit, vegetables etc. There were also two extra fridges in the garage that we used for beverages and to store leftovers! Loved having them available. Seating for everyone at the table was possible with the bench that is there for one side and chairs on the other. The chairs at the bar were a good option too and proved to be very comfortable. The bathrooms had lots of hooks for towels or robes and each shower had dispensers full of body wash, shampoo & conditioner. Again, a nice touch if you don’t want to pack so much. There is a Publix within walking distance, a couple of ice cream shops, and various little stores in a very friendly and quiet neighborhood. We even found a nature center that had a public herb garden that offered free pickings of herbs to use while cooking. We absolutely loved the house and location. To note we at first had an issue upon checkin but it was quickly resolved when I contacted Vacasa. Paul came in and handled the problem immediately. It is all about how a company handles a problem, not the expectation that there will never be an issue. Very pleased with Vacasa. We will be back again!
