HB165 Sea Odyssey

The only thing I truly loved about this house was its proximity to the beach. Otherwise, it was nothing to write home about. Everything is completely outdated and falling apart, everything leaks and drips, everything is slow to drain, the carpeting is old and gross, it smells really musty, there is mold on the games under the sink that's in the middle of the living room (which is weird in and of itself), the shower mat was really dirty, the sliding door windows had so much gunk on them that my SIL had to buy vinegar and scrape it off to clean them just so we could see through them, all of the wood on the back deck and stairs to the beach is splintering and the railings are wobbly, the furniture is super worn, stained and icky, there were dead roaches in the laundry room, earwigs in the bathroom and even found one between my pillows on the bed (*ick!*)... It was large enough to hold the 10 of us and it had the very basic amenities, but we would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone else. It looks like it's straight out of the late '70s/early 80's and has not been touched or updated since. And the maintenance soon company did not do a great job cleaning it before we got there!

House is in need of repairs and updates. It is roomy with a nice deck and ocean views but that’s the only positive things I can truthfully say.

Holden Beach is our family's favorite! We have been coming for 30 years. We always stayed at a home owned by extended family. It was sold earlier this year so we were pleasantly surprised to find the Sea odyssey. We loved its roominess and layout for our family. It is dated and shows the wear of many wonderful beach summers but we had a great week!
