HB80 Eberwein Retreat

Had everything needed.

Very nice and comfortable house for the money. The beach is pretty and not super busy. The house is dated and some applicances and furniture needs replacing. The porches also are in need of repair. Upon arrival our washer was broken. Vacasa was unable to repair it while we were there which was very disappointing. We have rented from Vacasa many times and I have to say this was the first time we've had issues. We still love Holden Beach, but would not rent this home again.

Four bedrooms with king size beds. Easy access to beach. Great sunroom.

We absolutely love the Eberwein Retreat! This was our second year staying here, and it felt like coming home. The house is beautifully maintained, spacious, and perfectly suited for a relaxing beach getaway. We’re already looking forward to our next stay and highly recommend the Eberwein Retreat to anyone looking for a relaxing, memorable vacation at Holden Beach.

As mentioned in older reviews, we noted the same, so keep in mind things aren't changing from reviews even over several years - living room furniture is dated and not very comfortable, burner light on stove still remains on all the time (and the burners are not all level either), the front door code is long and difficult to get in quickly (one night after going out to dinner it took us a dozen attempts to get in and we were wishing we had just left the back door unlocked), and I also look for an enclosed outdoor shower at the beach and didn't like that this one was under the house so we never used it. Additionally the clothes washer had spin cycle issues, it may just be that the feet need adjusted to level it, and some frying pans that aren't (scratched) Teflon would be nice. What we liked - great location at a lower price point so that made the issues we had tolerable. Because of the location you always felt like you had your own private beach spot and we love being oceanfront to still enjoy the beach from the back deck. Overall we had a lovely week at the beach in this home.

This place has two front ocean front rooms, each sharing a bathroom with another bedroom. Lots of fans. There are umbrellas on the deck for shade when needed. Loved having the sunroom with windows that opened for a relaxing breeze. Lots of amenities—great showers (one had a safety bar), good quality shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided. There isn’t a hill to get to the beach. Beach mats, chairs, and toys available. My only complaint is they didn’t allow free early access even though the home was ready. The laundry room was near the car so we didn’t use it.
