Stylish Oceanfront Home in a Great Location with WiFi & a Wood-Burning Fireplace

The views of the ocean and the marsh are spectacular and the house and property are well-maintained. It's well-suited for up to 6 people. The beds were comfy, leaning towards soft. The bed linens and towels were nice. The kitchen was unexpectedly uncrowded with tools and pans. We had everything we needed without having to sort through piles of accumulated and not-quite-clean pans and such. It is an older property, but it had all we needed for a great stay. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Our family visited Oct 2025, we hope to return again. The location was quiet and beachfront access, and for us, a close enough distance to Charleston and restaurants/stores while getting the remote feel for the beach. Minor issues were resolved very quickly by the management team and we loved how open the living & kitchen space was for our kids to run around when it was too chilly to jump in the ocean. If you’re going to this place, beware that there is no beach access unless you can jump off the deck at about 5ft off the ground. Really a safety hazard. Outside that, house is amazing and fully equipped with everything needed. Place was well cleaned. No issues. Close to lighthouse with less than a couple mile walk. Great views every day of sunsets and sunrises.

Nothing shared in this review hindered our stay. For the price and location, this house works great. Modest beach bungalow that you can tell was once loved and well kept by a family, but is now managed by a rental company that does not regularly check in on the place for simple things like tears in screens, broken towel bars, working smoke detectors and sliding doors. Mismatched/disproportionate for the space furniture, low grade/uncomfortable bedding and linens. Poorly maintained deck and interior space, with dirt/wall scuffs, dirty floors and carpet that is wearing out - or in the least needs steam cleaned (tile and carpet). The house surfaces are clean/has been cleaned well by the service, but is an overall worn out house. The toilets run regardless of attempts to stop them, the TV hdmi ports are loose from years of guests changing out streaming devices and thus don’t hold a cord consistently. The stairs from the lower deck to the beach are unstable, and in the current state, are unusable by anyone not in shape or able to pull themselves up from a 6+ foot drop. Even the beach patrol came by to let us know the stairs were not safe. The rental company was responsive via text/email working with us on internet challenges when we first arrived, and offered to send someone over to check the hdmi problem, but short of a new TV, that won’t be repairable. With remote work, we rent 1-3 vacation homes a year and have stayed up and down this coast - Kure Beach, Pawley’s Island, Kiawaii Island, etc. and love a good bungalow. I understand what we’re usually getting at this price point, and don’t mind an older or well-loved house. However, in the reviews, nearly all of our concerns were addressed by vacasa, so we tried to have faith in the known issues being corrected, but alas they were not. Which is disappointing for sure with a location like this. We of course enjoyed our short stay in this hippie beach town, but with a little attention to the home, a fresh coat of paint, and a few fixes, this place would be top notch.

We loved this house. Great access to the beach. Vacasa responded to an issue with our door in thirty minutes. A great place and great location.
