Luxury, Dog-Friendly, Oceanfront Home on Folly Beach

This property was absolutely perfect for our group! We had 8 adults staying there, plus about 10 other family members who came during the day to visit and enjoy the beach. We never felt crowded! Deck stairs lead directly to the beach. Beds were comfortable, each bedroom had its own bathroom, and there was an extra 1/2 bath by the front door. The large, open kitchen and living area were ideal for a large group, and the kitchen had two refrigerators! Decor was whimsical and I loved the eclectic artwork. I can’t wait to stay here again!

This home is my family’s favorite time together!!

I use a wheelchair. We have rented this property several times during the last decade. Two years ago, I left a positive review commending the property manager for improving accessibility in the home (Ralph R – June 2024). A subsequent development makes that review potentially misleading to potential guests with disabilities, so I need to make something perfectly clear: IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION, THIS HOME IS NOT ACCESSIBLE TO WHEELCHAIR USERS AND IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS MOBILITY ISSUES, INCLUDING THE ELDERLY. This is the result of the elevator in the home not working and this will apparently last indefinitely. Unfortunately, we found this out the hard way. We reserved this property for the week of Labor Day, 2025. We made the reservation in July, 2024, 14 months in advance. Sometime between then and late August, 2025, the elevator was taken out of service. We found out about the elevator a week before our trip, when I contacted the local Vacasa agent. The local Vacasa agent responded that “Unfortunately, that elevator does not work and has been off the listing for a while now. It will not be working during your stay.” So, …. apparently at some time subsequent to my booking this property, Vacasa removed the word “elevator” from the property’s website and references to a wheelchair-accessible bathroom were also removed However, no steps were taken to notify guests who had already reserved the property of this significant change. By the time we learned that the property was no longer accessible, family members from four states had already made travel plans and it was too late to cancel the reservation or find alternative accommodations. So, my family stayed at the property and I stayed home. An elderly relative had great difficulty negotiating the steep stairs and this greatly limited her ability to go out for meals and go sightseeing with the rest of the family. Obviously, carrying luggage and groceries up the steep stairs was also an added burden. Simple courtesy would require that the property manager notify guests who had already made reservations about this important change in the usability of the property, but we received no such notice. At no time did Vacasa offer any apology to its longtime consumer. Nor was there any offer of a partial refund or credit or other accommodation to reflect the greatly diminished value of this property. A business that values customer satisfaction does not operate this way. Simply put, the property owner/manager seems more concerned with profits than the welfare of its guests.

Great location, and beautiful house! Only thing was the coffee pot was broken and the ac was too cold and wouldn’t move in the bedrooms. Other than that- Everything was amazing and highly recommend!

Beachfront setting is breathtaking! My family has been staying at Charisma by the Sea for 5 years and everyone has an en suite. Thekids love the bunk beds.
