Overview

One of the most unique homes you can find on Folly Beach, this retreat sits on a private nature lot that boasts a private salt lake, dock, and over an acre of land! Don't worry about a long commute to the beach, as the beach access path is less than a block away for the surfers to get their fill of The Washout', a favorite local surfing spot. When you want to get a bit of fresh air and sunshine at home base, there is a large deck on the back of the home which also has a spiral staircase going up to a second deck landing. The deck right off of the living room and kitchen has a large custom-made picnic table that will seat all of your guests and overlooks the lake, making it a great spot for dining alfresco! The second-floor deck area has a love seat and chairs which usually has a nice breeze and is a great place for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Not to mention, there are two outdoor showers and a gas grill to rinse off sandy toes or host a cookout in the fresh air. Inside, you will find the newly renovated interior boasting beachy decor, plush furnishings, and a gourmet kitchen equipped with a gas range, wonderful views of the lake, stainless steel appliances, and a dishwasher for easy cleanup. There will be no need to be disconnected on this trip either with free high-speed WiFi that is ready to assist in streaming favorite movies or allowing guests to attend Zoom meetings. We had a great time at Lake Folly. The large property (unique in Folly Beach) with the pond, lookout decks and outdoor seating areas were all enjoyable. The distance to the beach was perfect! Everything was clean and spacious (more spacious than the pictures revealed, for a change!) and there was plenty of room for two teens and three adult kids as well as our energetic puppy. Hosts were available and responsive. Highly recommend!

House is great for couples with 3 master bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 4 bunks. Very nice sunset views and has alot of property with its own lake, our dogs were in heaven. The whole house is updated a beautiful kitchen and bathrooms. It also has direct beach access from the 13th street public access next door to it. We will rent it again.

This was truly one of the most unique properties we’ve stayed at on Folly. We loved that all four bedrooms had their own showers, each stocked with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner! The 1.5-acre lot catches a wonderful breeze that really helps keep the mosquitos away. The local wildlife put on quite a show for us—deer peeking out of the marsh at dusk, a Great Egret family nesting nearby, and even bats swooping through the night sky to feed. The kitchen felt like the heart of the home, with its expansive picture window perfectly framing unforgettable sunsets. Highly recommend a stay at Lake Folly!

We love, love, loved Lake Folly. The house was pretty and comfortable and met all of our needs. The crow's next provided incredible 360 deg views. The beach access was super close. Our favorite thing was the pond and property out back. We saw egrets, Great Blue Herons, and a bald eagle! We can't wait to return.
