For being nestled away in the quiet community of Wild Dunes, this home is surprisingly less than a five-mile drive to local shopping and dining, the Isle of Palms Marina, and grocery stores. It is also only 15 miles to charming, historic downtown Charleston is just 15 miles away where guests can enjoy fine dining and historic walking tours. The location of the unit was ideal for us and the space was right for a single couple. There are opportunities to upgrade furnishings and provide consistent directions for access, check out, and TVs. Not sure why a 10 digit key code is needed and the automatic lock internals just have more reason to fail. Had to get code for the lock box and use manual key (after two requests via text since they don’t provide a person/voice contact). Also the directions mention a dead bolt but there is none on the outside. We would stay again however if an opportunity to book with a better value.
You really can't beat the view from this spot. We loved the rooftop in the evenings, and the screen porch for coffee and lunch. The beach is less crowded down on this end of the island. We found lots of fun shells, and the sandbar is a short walk away. My kids loved it.
The unit was clean. Front storm door rather strange. The provided entry code never worked. Couches dirty and need replacing. Instructions should be provided to operate television. After considerable trial and error I got it operating. Great views of ocean. Windows clean. Floor of upstairs deck needs repainting as it is very stained. Landscaping around property quite neglected. Kitchen was quite adequate, just very small. Bed was comfortable. No specific complaints about bathroom or bedroom.
This gated community rental had what we wanted. It had a great direct view of the beach in a quiet building. We enjoyed a week on the beach without smelling weed or listening to anyone's music. It was quiet and relaxing. We drove into the Charleston Historic District for shopping and dinner almost every night and it was a lovely 30-40 minute drive across two bridges and past many fabulous homes. We sat by the quiet pool twice. We prefer to eat breakfast and lunch in a rental. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed. It is small, though. Only one person could fit in the kitchen at a time, but we were fine with it. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts and lunches on the veranda overlooking the ocean.
3rd floor room with a 3 & a 4th floor balcony. Can't get much better than this. Clean and very roomy for two. Much quieter on this end of the island.
