Its setting provides exceptional access to both the beach and nearby river, with a peaceful, uncrowded shoreline and private-feeling surroundings that guests found ideal for relaxing, fishing, swimming, surfing, and family time. Guests especially appreciated the beautiful location, easy walk to the ocean, and the natural coastal environment that preserves the authentic feel of the area. Live your Ernest Hemingway fantasy in this oceanfront lodge, furnished for comfort with beach-style wood paneling and a view of the ocean. Everyone can come along to this wonderfully intimate home, built in 1895 and complete with two screened-in porches so you can take in the fresh ocean air. Modern amenities like central air-conditioning and a private washer/dryer will keep everyone comfortable during your stay. The home is all ground floor, so no one will struggle with stairs. If you're coming in from the ocean, just rinse off in the outdoor shower and step right inside. The airy, bright kitchen features full-size appliances and open shelving to help you find what you need. With the ocean so close, a picnic basket might be the most used beach item during your stay.

The bedrooms of this home are laid out in a straightforward manner, so everyone can branch out and pick their favorite. As guests come through the front door, the first bedroom lies directly to the left and features a ceiling fan and shuttered windows. Directly across the hall, the second bedroom features a ceiling fan and a direct entrance to the hallway's full bathroom that features a shower/tub combination. The third bedroom, set up like a bunk room with high ceilings, also features a private entrance to this bathroom. On the other side of the hall, the fourth bedroom lies directly across from the full bathroom and features a ceiling fan and built-in shelving. The fifth and final bedroom is just next store and features a ceiling fan, numerous pieces of framed art, and a private entrance to the sunny second full bathroom (which itself features a standalone shower and a soaking tub).

This spot was pretty ideal especially with young kids the back part was a lot of room to run free on the sand the actual beach was just steps away downtown area was only about 30 minutes away the beach only had a few families and was not crowded at all which was really nice The historic house was very unique and plenty of room for family and friends will definitely think about coming back on another family vacay

This home was perfect for our family vacation! Plenty of space and a great location. The historic home was beautifully preserved and well equipped. We were able to go to the river and beach. Seashells galore!! Will definitely love to visit again.

From the moment we stepped into the breezeway b/t the kitchen and living room, our stay was a breath of fresh air. The atmosphere & character this home radiates is contagious. You can’t stay here and not allow yourself to slow down and take life in slower than the world typically allows. For this my family of 7 is grateful. From the 40 something’s down to our 12 year old we were all smitten with meeting in the kitchen for meals, strolling right to the beach for hours of calm, or just sitting on the porch listening to waves crash against the rocks. The beach was basically ours with the exception of maybe 20 others & the river side of the house was beautiful and offered an adventure for my kids that they won’t soon forget. They caught a baby hammerhead! Yes a hammer head!! It was released & swam away with ease, but that was cool! If it weren’t for coming back to the home we love, this place would have been difficult to leave. I’ve already shared the listing with 2 other family members who frequent St. Augustine annually.
