Overview
Professionally managed by Casago First Coast. Guests keep writing about the sunrise here — the balcony faces east across open lawn and the dune line to the Atlantic, and two separate reviews call it spectacular. It is a deep, fully covered corner balcony, furnished as a proper outdoor room with a turquoise wicker sectional, white sling chairs and an outdoor rug, with sliding doors into the living room on two sides. The condo is laid out on a single level with no interior steps and lift access, which suits older guests and anyone travelling with a stroller. Inside Surf Club's gated resort there are three heated pools (weather and maintenance permitting), courts, a clubhouse, shared grills, and — unusually for a beach community — a cinema and a bowling alley. Just across the road, the community's private dock and gazebo sit on the Matanzas River and the Intracoastal Waterway.

The Space
This is a two-bedroom condo at Surf Club in Palm Coast, laid out on a single level with no steps anywhere inside it. You reach the unit by lift, through a private entrance, and once inside, both bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, the living area and the balcony are all on the same floor.
The living area runs into the dining space and opens onto the balcony through sliding doors on two sides, so the ocean is in view from most of the room. Furnishing is comfortable rather than showy — a pale sofa with turquoise accents, a large dark-wood entertainment armoire holding the TV, a dining table under a chandelier, and light wood-look floors throughout. Ceiling fans run alongside the central air conditioning, and there are room-darkening blinds in the bedrooms.
The balcony is the reason to book. It is deep, fully covered, and wraps the corner of the unit, facing east over open lawn to the water. Two guests wrote about the sunrise without being asked: "the view of the ocean and the sunrise every day was exceptional from this spot," and "The morning sunrise was spectacular."

About the Beach — Please Read
The condo has private beach access and the shoreline here is beautiful to walk, with excellent shelling. It is a coquina rock shoreline, though, so there are many rocks in the water and swimming in the ocean is not recommended, particularly with young children. Guests who come to walk the beach and swim in the heated pools have a wonderful time; guests expecting to swim in the surf will not.

Rating
This condo had an amazing ocean view. The sunrise on a clear day was spectacular. There is sun on the balcony in the morning making it a great place for coffee. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well appointed which was a good thing as there were few restaurants nearby. Washington Oaks State Park is just down the road. This was a great place to spend the day. There were walking trails, gardens, and places to sit along the river. Best of all the cost was minimal. On the downside, the pool was closed for repairs. The beach is rocky and because of erosion there is only about a ten-foot section to walk on. It is not a beach where you can swim. It is rocky and has many jellyfish. Because the condo is located on A1A it is noisy. It happened to be Bike Week in Daytona which amplified the noise.
