Rating
This unit has a lot of privacy and being on the Omni Property gave us a lot of security & comfort. The unit itself was adequately furnished with comfortable beds and the kitchen was very well stocked with utensils & appliances. The shared pool was large & clean and we enjoyed it. Beach access was very well maintained. On the downside- the parking is atrocious. While the unit technically sleeps 8 people- you better all arrive in a small minivan because there is only dedicated parking for 1 smaller vehicle per unit. It was a nightly game for us just to find an additional parking spot for our grown kids to park. Inside the unit - stairs are a bit excessive if staying on the lower floors and their needs to be a little more counter space in the bathrooms. The balcony has a very good view of the trees out back but you can barely see one little sliver of the ocean. We enjoyed our visit but we will look elsewhere on our next trip.
We loved everything about it. The only recommendation is that the beach Walker complex needs more luggage carts to carry things to the apartment complex on arrival and on a discharge. There is only one luggage rack and one grocery cart.
Look forward to coming back!
We were 4 ladies staying at this property. It was reasonably well equipped for our long weekend stay. Beds were comfortable. Furniture is a little dated but still nice. The pool was nice and easy walk to the beach. The complex is a bit old and when we were there the elevator wasn’t working. Entrance to the property is on the 4th floor. Note that this condo is actually 4 levels with stairs - so not handicapped accessible and maybe not great for someone with limited mobility.
I discovered Amelia Island when I searched for "Multigenerational beach vacations" and read an article in Southern Living Magazine. This condo was perfect for our family, parents, 2 children with spouses and a 3 year old grandchild. It was clean, nicely furnished and had a lovely view. There are 3 sets of 7 tile stairs so I would not recommend it for a toddler, although there were gates in the closet. There were 4 beach towels in the cabinet above the dryer and beach chairs, boogie boards and a few sand toys in the closets. The pool pictures did not do it justice, it was large and had lots of lounge chairs and separate spaces, 3 feet to 8 feet depth. It is on the walk to the beach which is lovely. If someone has walking issues, the long walk might be an issue. It was great being in the OMNI plantation. (It was a smaller version of Kiawah Island, SC.) There are lots of paths and bike trails and we had dinner at Falcon's Nest and had food from the bakery/sandwich deli at Marche Burette. We went to the town multiple days for lunch/dinner. The town had lots of activity. We did a boat tour to Cumberland Island and went to Fort Clinch State Park. My husband and I used Amelia Island Shuttle & Transportation Service to and from the Jacksonville airport, attentive service at a reasonable price.
Lots of room for large families. Beautiful furniture and an updated unit. I’d stay here again.
