Welcome to

Northwest Arkansas

Northwest Arkansas spans a diverse stretch of the Ozarks, blending rugged beauty with metropolitan vibes and serene lakes with rivers carving through deep valleys. This region is home to distinct communities, each of which possess their own unique personality. This part of the Natural State is home to a mix of urban energy, outdoor adventure, and deep history, encompassing vibrant destinations such as Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, Springdale, and Eureka Springs, among others.

Widely considered the geographic and cultural heart of Northwest Arkansas, Bentonville has earned national attention for good reason. Home to the global headquarters of Walmart, Bentonville is both a business and cultural hub. Visitors are enthralled by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, a world-class institution set on 120 acres of trails and sculpture. In addition, the Momentary, a contemporary arts venue from the same Walton Family Foundation, adds a live music and performance dimension to the cultural calendar.

A stop in Bentonville is also a must for outdoor recreation. Outside Magazine has ranked Bentonville among the top mountain biking destinations in the country, thanks to the extensive OZ Trails system that winds through the Ozark hills.

About an hour's drive south of Bentonville, Eureka Springs operates on a different frequency. Discover why this charming city’s entire downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its Victorian architecture, winding hillside streets, and eclectic local shops. Home to the Ozark Mountain Music Festival each January, when spring rolls in Eureka Springs offers the opportunity to explore native gardens and crystal-blue lagoons at the Blue Spring Heritage Center. The surrounding Ozarks draw hikers, motorcyclists, and anyone looking to slow down in a genuinely scenic setting.

Whether hitting the mountain biking trails at Blowing Springs Park, paddling across Beaver Lake, making the trek for a music festival, or enjoying the food scene which is as diverse as its communities, Northwest Arkansas is always welcoming.

Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) is the primary entry point for air travelers and is only 12 miles from downtown Bentonville. The airport receives direct flights from major hubs including Dallas, Denver, Chicago, and Atlanta. Driving is also a practical option for visitors coming from nearby states.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the OZ Trails mountain biking system are two of the biggest draws. Beyond those, downtown Bentonville offers a strong dining and bar scene, the Walmart Museum, the Amazeum (great for families), and regular events like the Bentonville Film Festival and Bentonville Bike Fest.

Eureka Springs is about 1 hour southeast of Bentonville by car, making XNA the most convenient airport for most visitors.

Eureka Springs has a character all its own. The city is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and its Victorian-era architecture, hilly layout, and independently owned shops give it a feel unlike anywhere else in the region.
