History aficionados will certainly find plenty to explore in Northern New Hampshire, such as the Mount Washington Cog Railway, an engineering marvel completed in 1869. Today, you can still take a ride to the highest peak in the Northeast! Grand resort hotels from the Gilded Age offer an additional glimpse into early twentieth-century luxury and architecture.

Aside from its natural wonders and small towns, Northern New Hampshire is easily accessible from across the Northeast. A majority of visitors come from major cities such as Boston, Providence, and New York City, who drive the 2-3 hour route to the mountains.
