About

International-inspired cuisine with American roots, showcasing farm-to-table ingredients awaits you at Harvest on Main. Located in the heart of Blue Ridge, this eatery has delighted diners since its opening in 2009.

The visionaries behind this dynamic restaurant are husband-and-wife Dan and Michele Mellman. Dan is a self-taught cook with a James Beard nomination to his name, who spent 25 years in Florida building restaurant concepts and refining his craft. He also traveled through Europe, drawing inspiration from the kitchens of Sicily, Spain, and beyond. Along the way, he met Michelle Moran, a seasoned food writer and researcher who became his wife and business partner.

The Mellmans saw something special in Blue Ridge. They noticed how Southern and Appalachian cooking shared roots with Mediterranean cuisine: simple ingredients, bold flavors, and respect for the land. With that vision, they founded Harvest on Main and pioneered full-service dining in downtown Blue Ridge. The restaurant helped grow the area into the food destination it is today.

You’ll also find their influence at sister restaurants Cucina Rustica, La Pizzeria, and Blue Ridge Bakery.

While the couple relies on local producers and farmers, much of the produce and meat they grow and raise themselves at The Cook's Farm. Other ingredients arrive from trusted regional partners, including Brasstown Beef, Bramlett Farm Trout, and Mercier Orchards.

The setting is also appealing, the lodge-style decor blending perfectly with Blue Ridge’s natural vibe.

Whether you stop for lunch or gather for a family dinner, Harvest on Main offers a true taste of Southern-inspired cuisine.

Vibe

Perched on the corner of Roberts Way and Main Street, the log cabin-style eatery blends with the city’s rustic vibe. The entryway’s massive hand-carved log pillars and picture windows welcome guests with open arms.

Inside is where the cozy lodge atmosphere shines, with an open ceiling, wood beams, handmade furniture, and soft lighting. The rock fireplace adds homey comfort, while mounted elk and moose heads lend authenticity.

The dining areas offer something for every guest. The main area centers around the stone fireplace, making it perfect for a romantic meal or group dinner. Bar seating gives solo diners and couples a front-row spot for a drink and a bite, while the outdoor porch lets guests dine al fresco overlooking Main Street.

The overall atmosphere is warm, inviting, and unhurried, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing.

Harvest on Main: Menu & Drinks

Kick off your epicurean adventure with a starter like the Blue Ridge Sampler. Perfect for sharing in a group, this combo features housemade pimento cheese, pickles, hummus, pickled tomatoes, olive relish, and corn salad.

The Bramlett Farm trout stands out as a signature plate. The fresh fish is blackened and comes with agrodolce, an Italian sweet-and-sour sauce. Add the sweet potato mash and sauteed garlic green beans, and you have a soul-satisfying dinner!

The Cajun shrimp pasta is bold, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The Cajun creme sauce complements the jumbo shrimp, while the smoked bacon adds a salty twist to the flavors. Served atop penne pasta with garlic toast, the dish will transport you to New Orleans!

For something fresh, the Harvest Salad is a must. It features mixed greens, spiced Georgia peaches, pecans, and feta cheese. The homemade creamy apple cider vinaigrette unifies and connects the various flavors and textures. For an additional cost, add grilled chicken breast, salmon, shrimp, picanha steak, blackened trout, or pulled pork.

Heartier appetites gravitate toward the picanha, a flavorful cut of beef that earns high marks for its preparation and presentation. The burnt-end brisket sandwich is another favorite, served with loaded potato salad and portions generous enough to satisfy even a big appetite.

Regarding drinks, you'll find a fine selection of local craft beers. The extensive wine list and craft cocktails round out the lineup, ensuring a beverage for every occasion, meal, and craving.

For travelers seeking authentic mountain flavor, a visit to Harvest enhances any North Georgia getaway.
