Welcome to

Napa

Napa is your front door to America's most celebrated wine region and so much more! With over 55 walkable tasting rooms, world-class restaurants, the Oxbow Public Market, hot air balloon rides at sunrise, and the Napa Valley Wine Train, there is something for everyone to enjoy in Napa.

Located roughly one hour from the urban hubs of San Francisco, Oakland, and Sacramento, getting to Napa is easy. Once home to the Wappo and Patwin tribes, Napa was officially established in 1850. This rich agricultural region has attracted travelers since the mid-19th century. Napa welcomed its first steamboat from San Francisco shortly after its founding, followed by the arrival of the railroad nearly a decade later.

The first commercial winery in the Napa region dates back to 1858, while its world-recognized wines have garnered awards for over half a century. This acclaimed wine country in Northern California is also known for its vibrant Napa Riverfront Promenade, late 1800s and early 1900s architecture, and artsy vibes.

Today, downtown Napa has transformed into a vibrant hub of cuisine, wine, and culture. Within a few walkable blocks, you can visit a dozen tasting rooms, dine at a Michelin-caliber restaurant, and browse an artisan food market on the riverfront. As if that's not enough, over 400 wineries are stretching north through the valley from your doorstep. Best of all, it's the kind of place where you can spend a day exploring without even needing a car.

If you want help choosing the right Napa home, whether that means pool access at Silverado Resort, proximity to downtown tasting rooms, or a property with a hot tub, contact our team at 707-582-2483. We'll gladly guide you to the best match!

  • Harvest season (September through October) is the most exhilarating time in the valley, filled with grape picking, winemaker dinners, and crush parties.
  • Spring brings mustard blooms across the vineyards, as well as the popular three-day music and food festival BottleRock Napa Valley held over Memorial Day weekend
  • Summertime is peak season with temperatures in the 80s and 90s, making for ideal pool time and outdoor dining.

Driving the 50 miles from Oakland and San Francisco takes about 1 hour via the Bay Bridge and I-80. The drive from SFO Airport is about 1.5 hours. Keep in mind that weekend traffic, especially Friday afternoons, can push the drive to 90 minutes. From Sacramento, plan on the trip taking 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Downtown Napa is very walkable, with dozens of tasting rooms, restaurants, the Oxbow Public Market, and the Wine Train departure point.

Visiting up-valley wineries in Yountville, St. Helena, or Calistoga requires a car, rideshare, or booked wine tour. Uber and Lyft operate in the area, and VINE Transit Route 29 connects Napa to Calistoga by bus.

Absolutely! Sunrise hot air balloon rides over the vineyards, intimate tasting rooms, Michelin-caliber dining, and Napa River gondola rides create an atmosphere built for romance. And since our vacation rentals offer more space and privacy than a hotel, you can cook together, enjoy private patios for evening wine, and relax in hot tubs in select properties.

There is plenty to do in Napa beyond wine tasting!

  • Skyline Wilderness Park has 850 acres and 25+ miles of trails for hiking and biking.
