About

With all the bright, flashing lights of modern gadgets and gizmos, sometimes it's good to step back and appreciate nature and some of its creatures—like the reptiles at Alligator Adventure.

Located at the Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, you won't be far from an incredible experience. If you want to check out some crustaceous critters, there's no better place than Myrtle Beach's largest reptile park!

For over 25 years, the good folks at the Alligator Adventure have been keeping their 15-acre property open as a self-guided reptile zoo. People worldwide have enjoyed it for over 25 years, too.

There's more than gators at Alligator Adventure! Over 230 other species exist, like lizards, flamingos, wildcats, and even spotted hyenas! Alligator Adventure is your one-stop shop to take in nature's majesty.

Just because there are other creatures to enjoy at Alligator Adventure doesn't mean the alligators (and crocodiles!) aren't center stage. Far from it! There are over 800 alligators and crocodiles in the wetland habitat.

One shining star is Utan, "King of the Crocs!" Weighing in at over 2,000 pounds and measuring in at 18 feet. Utan is considered the largest crocodile in captivity in the United States and spends his time in a massive 5,000 sqft habitat!

While you might wonder if taking your little one to Alligator Adventure is safe, rest assured that the staff is well-trained. Stringent guidelines are enforced to ensure your visit is as safe as possible.

Hours at Alligator Adventure run from 9 am to 6 pm, and they encourage you to allot two hours for your visit!

You can't bring in your cooler, but a snack bar is on-site for all your refreshment needs!

Fun Facts and Cool Features

With as many as four reptile shows, three main pool feedings, and one wildlife feeding, there's always something going on at Alligator Adventure!

You're sure to go slack as their jaws snap—alligators as large as 15 feet will leap from the pools to snatch their diner in their powerful jaws!

Learn about what and how alligators eat, and if you're lucky, you can ask Alligator Adventure's veterinarian—the Croc Doc—a question or two!

When the temperature goes down in Myrtle Beach and the gators don't eat as much, there are still shows to be had! In place of the live feedings, you'll find alligator handling shows with an accompanying lecture!

Enjoy learning about one of nature's oldest creatures while handling them! And for the snake fans, there are also snake-handling shows! Learn how to tell a venomous snake from a non-venomous one, and even wear a snake as a hat!
