About

Jamaica Beach is located on the East End of Galveston Island. It's located in the middle of a long stretch of beaches which also includes East End Beach, Sunny Beach, San Luis Beach, and more. There are miles of public beach access and gorgeous beach homes to admire on this side of the island. Note that Jamaica Beach is not only a beach, but it is also a city in Texas.

To reach this beach, you will need to take Public Beach Access 17. There are a total of 41 beach access areas so as you can see, no matter where you stop off, you'll be able to enjoy lots of sand and sea! The street you will take is Buccaneer Drive. Additionally, make sure you pay attention to the beach warning flags when entering the beaches.

Jamaica Beach Parking

As for parking here, you are able to park directly on the beach. This is the case for most other beaches in this area too. Although, a couple of beaches will have designated parking areas and walkways. This beach is very popular, particularly for fishing and simply relaxing. If you're not big on fishing, classic beach activities including having a picnic, building sandcastles, and flying kites are promising options.
