Riley assumed his leadership role in September 2024, spearheading an accomplished executive team dedicated to strengthening Casago’s reputation as an industry leader.
Riley brings a unique mix of military and business expertise to his new role, showcasing a proven track record of leadership. Riley’s direction is accentuated by his distinguished military career in the U.S. Army, including deployments to Afghanistan and Ukraine. His achievements further include appointment to the U.S. National Security Council in 2019, where he served as the youngest officer assigned as Director for Indo-Pacific Security.
While deployed with the 2nd Battalion in Afghanistan, Riley and his wife decided to put their home up as a short-term rental. Through that experience, he realized a tremendous need existed for short-term rentals around military bases across the U.S. With this conviction, Riley founded Patriot Family Homes (PFH), a Veteran-owned and operated property management company specializing in short-term rentals. Under his direction, PFH quickly grew into a successful multi-market company.
As PFH expanded to nearly 20 markets, Riley detected the risk of jeopardizing a direct connection with local communities. The importance of ensuring local alignment while enhancing local connections led Riley and the PFH team to turn to franchise-driven models. Riley highlighted, “Without a doubt in our mind, Casago was by far the most noteworthy franchise system and had the best value proposition for existing homeowners and short-term rental management company owners.”
In October 2024, Riley announced that Patriot Family Homes would be joining forces with Casago, blending a shared vision for the future of the short-term rental industry. Riley emphasized the decision to join Casago by stating, “We believe that franchising is the future of the industry.” This brought Riley into the folds of Casago, where he intends to continue to grow the profile of Casago and “show how the franchise model and that local hero model can really help.”
