Casago leadership transition takes effect as Joe Riley becomes CEO

PHOENIX, Ariz., and PORTLAND, Ore., October 2, 2026 — On the heels of Casago’s successful transition of Vacasa’s markets to Casago franchisees, Joe Riley has taken over as Chief Executive Officer of Casago. This leadership transition was initially announced in February and finalized as Casago completed its final market transitions in September.

All Vacasa markets are now locally owned and operated by Casago’s franchisees or other partners, embracing the Owner Centric model that has been the hallmark of Casago’s success. Casago’s network now covers hundreds of cities spanning the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, and the Caribbean.

“Our goals over the past year were to find great local partners and transition the Vacasa markets to them. The scale and complexity of the transformation is hard to overstate, but thanks to an incredible team and truly relentless partners, we got it done,” said Riley. “Now that we are through market transitions, our focus is on the continued success of our franchise partners and adding new markets.”

Schwab founded Casago in 2001 in Rocky Point, Mexico, and has spent the past 25 years building the company from a single-market property manager into an international vacation rental management franchise business. Now, through transitions, he is excited to continue advancing Casago forward as Founder and Chairman, with a focus on industry advocacy and engagement with Casago’s franchise partners.

“We’ve accomplished a lot over the past year, and there’s much more ahead,” Riley concluded.
