About

The Buffalo Bar is a restaurant and casino that’s very popular in the area.

It has a rustic feel to it but isn’t boring in any way. I found the Western décor to be very local and not touristy like some other places in the area. They have slot machines and video games, and you can easily find something to try your luck at here.

The food, on the other hand, is good. I found that The Buffalo Bar offers bigger portions and hot, fresh meals to enjoy. And being located near Crosswinds Inn makes it easy for me to drop by when I am in town.

I have been to quite a few restaurants in this city and find that The Buffalo Bar is one of the best overall options, and I think that for several reasons.

First, the outdoor patio is nice on a hot night when you want to cool down. I also like that they have live bands on the weekends, which makes me think I am in town less for business and more for vacation!

The food is full of flavor and made well. I like seasoned food, and the options here are good. There is often a game on the TV, and you can count on the staff to be pleasant to you. They are busy, but they always have time for a fun conversation.

It offers a few off-the-cuff elements to it, but The Buffalo Bar is really all about having some fun and enjoying great food.

So if you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend stopping in for a bite!

Vibe

The Buffalo Bar offers a chill, laidback vibe that welcomes everyone.

It’s a big restaurant with plenty of benches to sit and relax, and there’s a pool table, video casino options across the walls, and a bar area. Inside, it’s roomy and easy to mingle with friends. And the outdoor patio is also pretty nice when you just want to relax. I also found that there’s a big table area perfect for a game of cards.

The Buffalo Bar is an excellent place without a lot of frills that give you a truly local feel!

The Buffalo Bar: Menu & Drinks

Let’s start with some of my favorite bar bites.

I like the Buffalo Balls—yes, I know the name is a bit out there, but these are excellent. They are buffalo meatballs served with mashed potatoes with onion, mushroom, and rich brown gravy on them. This is my go-to option.

I also like the chips and salsa they have on the bar menu. The Mountain Fries are battered fries that have cheese, bacon, more cheese, and onion on them.

The main menu offers salads, tacos (the pork carnitas are some great options), and burgers. I was looking for something really comforting and home-like, so I choose the Pot Roast. It sounds simple, but it was super tender and served over a big piece of garlic toast. It has mushrooms and onions on top of that with gravy, mashed potatoes, and I had a side salad with it.

For a drink, I had the Bacon Jalapeno Bloody Mary. Wow— it has a punch to it with the CCD Bacon Jalapeno Vodka.

Local Tips

  • They have breakfast, and it is a hearty meal that will prepare you for the day to come for sure.
  • There are events here from time to time, including music and various parties. You can rent out a portion of the space, too.
  • The Roasted Corn Pasta Salad is the underdog here. It is such a hidden treasure on this menu and so fresh after the spice of some of these meals.
  • If you’re a wine drinker, the good news is they have some excellent options, including Veneto Pino Grigio and Tussock Jumper Merlot, my favorites.
