About

A lot of people come to this region to fish, and that means everyone has a fish story to tell. If that sounds like you, I suggest a visit to Last Chance Bar & Grill at TroutHunter

This is where anglers come together. The food is made with a lot of attention to detail, and I cannot stress enough how unique that is in this region. This location makes a lot of fresh seasonal meals with scratch-made ingredients.

I really enjoyed the entire experience here. There is a bar area and a restaurant as well as an outdoor area to relax with a nice view. Don’t worry about getting dressed up to visit either, since some are coming in right off the water!

I have to mention the atmosphere and overall look of this location. I asked and was told that the ceilings come from a fir tree that was over 100 years old. The wood is beautiful, the lighting charming, and the overall experience enjoyable.

In case you didn’t know, Last Chance Bar & Grill is located within the TroutHunter Lodge, but you do not have to be staying here to visit. It is certainly available to anyone.

Vibe

The location has a true lodge feel to it. It is set in a wood-paneled building, and there are a lot of charming people here. I felt right at home, and the person sitting next to me was happy to share some stories and banter.

The atmosphere is welcoming, not overbearing, and relaxed. It is easy to have some fun here.

Last Chance Bar & Grill at TroutHunter: Menu & Drinks

I can only tell you about the foods that I was able to try, but I do know the menu seems to change by the season.

When I visited, I started with the Jalapeno Poppers. I was expecting something basic, but these were great. They were super stuffed with cream cheese and then wrapped in perfectly cooked bacon.

If you want a sandwich, they have lots of options on the menu, including a French Dip and Steak options. For my meal, I enjoyed the Buffaloaf – which is a big serving of bison meatloaf. It has a rich red glaze on it, which is fantastic. I had it with freshly made mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. It was a very filling meal.

I had to enjoy a nice drink with it and was able to get Roadhouse Walrus Hazy IPA with it. It was super refreshing. They also had ciders, seltzers, beer, and an assortment of fountain drinks. I also noted they have Topo Chico Sparkling Water, which is a local favorite for our family.

Finally, before I could leave, and even though I didn’t think I could do it, I had to have a piece of pie. I had the Crumb Berry Pie, and it was fantastic. The berries were bright and full of flavor.

This could easily become one of the best places to visit with such a decadent menu to offer.
