About

Picture vast soft sand, the shimmering Whitefish Lake reflecting the majestic Montana sky, and the soothing sound of waves lapping the shore.

City Beach is that picturesque spot! It's a magnet for vacationers and tourists seeking fun in the sun during their Whitefish vacation.

City Beach is in the charming town of Whitefish that offers visitors a taste of Montana's exquisite beauty and the joys of beach activities.

The glacial-fed public beach became an instant hit amongst locals. Along with its beach, visitors can relax in shaded grassy areas and have picnics in the gazebos and picnic tables.

There is a designated swimming area and a dock to launch small watercraft for a fee. The beach is perfect for children because the entry is shallow. But the water is cold, so it's best to swim when it's sunny and hot!

Over the years, numerous events, tournaments, and family gatherings have added pages to the beach's rich legacy, making it an integral part of Montana's cultural tapestry.

This lovely waterfront, which offers an enticing view of the surrounding mountains, is much more than just a place to sunbathe. It's a testament to Montana's ability to surprise visitors with its diverse attractions. While it might seem unusual to find such a beautiful beach in the heart of Montana, City Beach stands as a proud reminder of nature's capacity to astonish us.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

City Beach is on Whitefish Lake, which spans over 3,300 acres and is seven miles long. That's a lot of room for water sports and beach activities!

One of the beach's most appealing and popular features is its sunset views. As the sun sets behind the mountains, the sky above Whitefish Lake explodes in orange, pink, and purple hues. It's a photographers' and romantics' paradise!

For the active vacationer, the City Beach offers various water sports. From paddleboarding to water skiing, it's a hub for water-based excitement. If you're lucky, you might spot some local wildlife, as the surrounding woods are home to Montana's native creatures.

Lastly, City Beach hosts various events every summer that turn the serene setting into a lively venue, echoing with music, laughter, and joy. Make sure to check the local calendar when planning your Montana vacation.
