About

Some places have a rich array of stories woven into every nook and dish, and Loula's Cafe is one of them.

Situated in the heart of Whitefish, Loula's is the second restaurant from restauranters Mary Lou Covey and Laura Hansen. By combining "Lou" and "Laura," they created the restaurant's name.

Back in the kitchen is Chef Shaun. The Georgia native helped get the cafe operational in its infancy and later attended Scottsdale Culinary Institute to hone his craft. Today, he is instrumental in developing dishes and managing day-to-day operations.

Loula's is known for its made-from-scratch menu items and, notably, its pies! Being family-owned adds to the cafe's charm and commitment to culinary excellence.

Today, those same recipes resonate with a blend of tradition and innovation, and they have had everyone from curious tourists to celebrity visitors raving about the culinary experience.

Vibe

Pulling up to Loula's Cafe in Whitefish, the first thing that strikes you is that it doesn't look like a typical cafe. The Historic Masonic Temple, with its tall, elegant columns, brick facade, and windows, resembles a 1920's bank rather than a chic cafe.

But don't let the regal exterior fool you! Inside are two sun-filled rooms adorned with local art and photography.

Inside is a combination of warm wood decor with industrial-styled ventilation. The result is a hip yet inviting restaurant catering to breakfast and lunch diners.

Tables are spread out to allow for intimate gatherings or pulled together for larger groups.

Loula's Cafe: Menu & Drinks

Food is where Loula's Cafe truly shines. Using locally sourced foods whenever possible and hormone and antibiotic-free Montana beef, diners are insured to get fresh, healthy, and delicious meals.

A popular breakfast favorite is the Lemon Stuffed French Toast. Thick slices of bread, perfectly golden on the outside, reveal a soft and citrusy center. The warm raspberry sauce and confectioner sugar are why many hail it as a "delightful morning surprise."

Breakfast lovers will jump for joy knowing they can order all their favorites until 2 PM except the Giant Buttermilk Pancakes, which stop at 11 AM.

Lunch starts at 11 AM, and the Classic Reuben is a crowd favorite! The sandwich features homemade corned beef, Kraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing. All sandwiches come with your choice of chips, but a salad or fries can be added for an additional cost.

While the meals are exceptional, it's the homemade pies they're famous for. At the top of the list are their huckleberry pies, of which there is a veritable combination. Every variety is a tribute to Montana's beloved berry, a medley of sweet and tart with a crust that melts in your mouth.

Loula's serves coffee, juices, and an assortment of fountain drinks.

When vacationing in Whitefish, grab some breakfast, some coffee, and some pie at Loula's Cafe. Your stomach will thank you!
