About

Who knew that when Shea Frost was camping in her youth, sipping coffee would be her inspiration for Cowgirl Coffee. Flash forward, and 2022 marks Cowgirl Coffee's twentieth anniversary.

Shea's initial career was as a professional snowboarder, and on a Whitefish photoshoot, fell in love with the Flathead Valley area. She decided to put down roots, and years later, her iconic horseshoes and lipstick kiss signs can be seen near and far.

To be clear, her vision for Cowgirl Coffee wasn't rodeo buckles and big hair. Her enjoyment of cowboy coffee, a potent brew made by boiling grounds over a campfire, was her inspiration.

Along with her campfire concept, Shea tapped into her fourteen years in the coffee industry to launch her coffee shop successfully.

Cowgirl Coffee has seen its fair share of tourists, locals, and coffee lovers since its doors swung open twenty-plus years ago. Along the journey, the Food Network voted it the best coffee in Montana.

The quaint coffee shop uses fresh and organic beans and tries to use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

Regarding the next twenty years, Shea commented, "I'm kind of a jump to the next level girl, so you're going to probably see us expand to some degree. I'm not sure what that looks like, though. And that's always the fun part."

Currently, Cowgirl Coffee has expanded, and there are multiple locations. But the Whitefish store remains a hub for locals and caffeine lovers worldwide.

Vibe

From the outside, Cowgirl Coffee features rustic wood paneling, reminiscent of a cowboy-era saloon but with a contemporary twist.

While small in size, inside, baristas can pack a punch with various coffee, smoothies, and energy drinks.

Service is fast, friendly, and efficient, and the staff is readily available to offer suggestions.

Cowgirl Coffee: Menu & Drinks

Saddle up, partner, and let's cut to the chase: the menu! As you know, having a cute name and quaint shops doesn't equate with good java. But in the case of Cowgirl Coffee, they deliver on so many fronts.

Let's start with espresso drinks. They begin with organic beans to craft the perfect cup of coffee. What's nice are the various sizes, starting with a 12-ounce shooting skyward to the 32-ounce behemoth.

Visitors can select either a latte, matcha latte, Americano, or assorted teas. If you're daring, try the Banana Frappe or add flavor and cream for an additional cost to create a caffeine-laced concoction.

They offer a bountiful selection of energy drinks like Cowgirl Summer, which has strawberry, mango, a splash of OJ, and pink lotus.

And if you need some substance, try the Trailhorse, rich with almond milk, bananas, peanut butter, and honey. For a cowboy kick, add a shot of espresso!

The Cowgirl Bowl is a great breakfast or snack choice. This healthy go-to is topped with sliced almonds, chia seeds, coconut flakes, sunflower seeds, and honey.

Whether looking to dive into Montana's rich history or craving an exceptional cup of coffee, Cowgirl Coffee in Whitefish promises to send you off down happy trails.
