While a renowned scuba shop, they cater to snorkelers, fishermen, and sightseers with a boatload of tours. We'll look into some of these in our next section!

While scuba diving is a safe sport, you want the best and safest when you're in another country. Rest assured, you'll get that and more with Akumal Dive Shop!

It opened in 1975, making it the first dive shop on Mexico's Caribbean mainland. It is also a 5-star PADI dive shop, another feather in its cap.

This prestigious title is awarded by meeting certain criteria and offering the highest levels of service, facilities, equipment, safety, professionalism, and education. In other words, you're in safe and competent hands!

Akumal Dive Shop is a short drive north of Tulum and is close to other landmarks like Cenotes Dos Ojos. Restaurants like Safari Comedor Zama are nearby and are ideal for celebratory meals and drinks.

Now, let's dive into the various tours and opportunities at Akumal Dive Shop so you can plan your next adventure!

Akumal Dive Shop: Fun Facts & Cool Features

In Mayan, Akumal translates to "Place of the Turtles." The Bay Sea Turtle Snorkeling Tour allows you to swim with these majestic creatures. The shallow waters are also home to rays, coral, tropical fish, and lobsters.

The world's second-greatest barrier reef is a short boat ride away, making it a coveted spot among divers. Akumal Dive Shop offers too many scuba diving tours to list, but they range from shallow dives near Akumal to wreck dives in deep water and Bull Shark Diving for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The Whale Shark Snorkeling tour connects snorkelers with these enormous and harmless creatures. The all-day trip takes place from June through September when whale sharks take advantage of the plankton-rich waters.

The Yucatan is home to inland caves known as cenotes. Dive into these crystal-clear sinkholes, like Cenotes Dos Ojos,  to explore caverns and see stalactites and stalagmites.

For adventures above the surface, check out the fishing and sailing packages. Anglers will be thrilled to catch seasonal trophies like barracuda, sailfish, marlin, and snapper. To top it off, the crew will clean your catch, and restaurants like Restaurante Estrada will cook it to your liking!

Relax on your Tulum vacation by sailing on a full moon or sunset voyage. These popular tours are ideal for honeymoons, families, and friends. But the ultimate is the Robinson Crusoe tour!  Sail on a 36' Catamaran to a private cove to snorkel, swim, eat, and relax. The five-hour tour includes a light lunch, drinks, and gear.

With so much to see, do, and explore in the Yucatan Peninsula, let Akumal Dive Shop be your guide for a safe, fun, and memorable adventure.
